Description: TO GET THE MOST AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD, YOU NEED AUTHENTIC INGREDIENTS Maria’s Italian Kitchens is one of those grand American success stories. Maria’s Italian Kitchens often remind guests of the casual, sometimes boisterous, neighborhood eateries of another era. It began in the Italian quarter of Hoboken, New Jersey, where Madelyn’s mother, Maria, grew up learning the recipes for real Italian food of Naples from her mother, Luisa. This home-grown education in the fundamentals of Napolitano sauces, soups, dressings, ravioli, lasagna and other regional fare was put to delicious use in 1968 when the Alfano’s and their five young children moved to Los Angeles and bought a tiny grocery store called the “Village Mart” in L.A.’s prestigious Brentwood Village located at Barrington Street and Sunset Blvd. and converted the one car garage into the first Maria’s Italian Kitchen in 1975. She must have learned her lessons well because that first Maria’s Italian Kitchen was a huge success.

I have not visited any of Maria's other locations however have enjoyed this specific one for a long time now. If you are not familiar with this location or local area, it is very convenient. It is adjacent to a great Sushi/Japanese Restaurant on one side and an Islands Restaurant on the other side. About 20 yards away from that, is a Panera Bread.

All of Maria's dishes are very, very good and although not 'cheap', very reasonably priced for the caliber of dish, quality of ingredients and being freshly prepared.

They have great Pizza, however don't limit yourself as there are other wonderful pasta and protein options. The 'bread' they serve is akin to soft, doughy but thin Pizza Crust with a great garlic and herb seasoning. It is freshly baked and served warm. Dip it the Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar. I'm getting hungry writing about it!

Haven't had or observed anyone receiving a bad dish here. Really enjoy their Pasta with Shellfish and Fra Diablo spicy sauce.

If you like Risotto as much as I do (or if you've never had it before) this is a great place to get a great bowl of risotto - and it is also a decent size portion for a reasonable price. I enjoy the Mushroom Risotto.

Great but simple bar and offerings, great desserts as well!

Typical American take on Southern Italy food. The restaurant was large and appeared clean. Nothing unusual on the menu. The Lunch menu is affordable. We had two glasses of the house Chianti. The food & service were good.

The place was clean, service was reasonable, but the food was immaculate! No matter how long the wait, be aware that the quality of the food supersedes any defections the place may have.

We had been there once previously, and felt it was just OK....but last night we tried again....surprise! Everything we ordered was perfect, delicious, and the portions were nothing short of huge accompanied by reasonable prices and excellent service. My chicken parmigiano was superb....the best I've had in the 3+ years we've lived here.
every dish can be ordered in either lunch or dinner size....the dinner portion was impossible to finish....it was my lunch today.
And they have lots of good deal, like 1/2 price wine on Thursdays. I think Maria's will be our1st choice for Italian food from now on.

Dinner at night, on a business trip; Sleeping in one of the nearby motels on Colorado, it was tempting not to drive far.
Pastas were terrible, undercooked (even if I like them al dente), the 'meat sauce' bland, tasteless, just a tomato can vaguely cooked, no spice.
Forget the place, drive further on.
