I stayed at the Creekside when visiting relatives who have no space for guests. I had a room on the fourth floor near Materdero street, and it was quiet and pleasant ( of course, the weather was responsible for some of that, and the weather in Palo Alto is usually terrific). The location was good for my visit, and it's also close enough, with a longish walk, to get to the California street area for resturants and the food market on Sunday morning. I discovered I could walk to Fry's Electronics, too, which seemed very Silicon Valley. And of course tons of restsurtnts close by on El Camino.
The room was clean and well kept, but awkward. There was a tiny little closet right by the door, with a safe (big enough for my laptop) on a pedestal. The closet was too small to put my suitcase in. There was a microwave on the desk, which took up most of the desk and made it unusable, also the desk was in a corner next to the TV cabinet so you couldn't sit at it. The only clothes storage other than the closet were two drawers below knee level under the TV. There was a good sized fridge in the room.
The heat/AC unit worked and was quiet.
Staff was reasonably helpful and very competent. I didn't interact with them very much, and didn't tey any of the morning pastries with coffee.
Generally a good stay.
I arrived at the creekside inn expecting a place with more seclusion based on the photos and a nice creek. I am not sure how they got their pictures to make the place look so much nicer than it really is.
The hotel is off a major road and is tucked in behind a restaurant and a deli. The hotel and the parking lot are showing signs of their age and not enough attention. The pool isn't very large and the creek is not something you would take a picture of.
The room itself was quite pleasant although a little on the cramped side. It was nicely furnished and comfortable. Sound insulation was good. The beds were firm and I like them that way.
The staff were moderately helpful. Service wasn't excellent but it wasn't bad.
The location is pretty good. You can get to nearby business areas, shopping centers, restaurants, freeways, etc. very easily.
Overall it's a very average place.
This motel is very conveniently located on El Camino Real, south of Page Mill Road. We were on the second floor with a view of the pool and surrounding trees - very nice. The room was very clean.
Drawbacks: I waited to be acknowledged at the front desk - I stood there until the woman finished whatever she was doing on the computer. The check-in was efficient but not friendly or welcoming at all.
There is a strong scent of potpourri or some such in the hallways.
It was a quiet setting however. And there is a deli across the parking lot for snacks.
Dear Valued Guest;
Thank you for taking the time to provide much appreciated feedback! Although we are disappointed that you did not feel as welcomed as we would like, we will use your comments as a training tool for our Front Desk staff.
Additionally, we have recently upgraded our deodorizers in the hallways and apologize that you did not enjoy the previous fragrance used.
Hopefully, we will have the pleasure of welcoming you again to the Creekside Inn!
Kind Regards and Safe Travels,
Arrived here after a 24 hr plane journey from India. The hotel is just amazing, very friendly people and an great restaurant as well.
The rooms are really comfortable, the location is just perfect. In addition many complimentary items are provided including breakfast, shuttle service (5 miles radius) and of course wi fi.
There are a lot of hotel choices along El Camino Real in this area, and I was happy with the one that was made for me by the institute for which I was traveling. The room was quiet, the continental breakfast was adequate though not lavish, and there were decently many restaurants within walking distance, including a very good Hunan Gardens Chinese restaurant across the street. The bed was good, and the desk adequate for a business traveler. The main down side: As is typical for coastal central California, the heating and cooling was via a wall-mounted unit with a hotter-or-colder style dial, and it was very difficult to control the temperature. But I would definitely stay here again.
