Family friendly to eat outside on the patio under heat lamps. Plenty of room for toddler to move around without bothering anyone.

We were staying at a hotel across the street and decided to try Dinah's as opposed to the high price hotel buffet. They have enclose the patio portion of the restaurant with temporary sidewalls and installed heaters for the winter months. There are still table inside, but we chose one of the ones on the patio for a better view. They have a very extensive breakfast menu with omelettes, eggs benedict, pancakes, and all of the standard egg dishes. It is a farm to table restaurant and the fruit cup they offered with many of the menu items was actually "fresh fruit", They also do a "hand-squeezed" orange juice. The servers work as a team, so while you have a primary server everyone else chips in to make sure that you have everything you need when you need it. Would definitely go back.

We stayed at Dinah's Garden Hotel for three nights recently, and enjoyed several meals at Dinah's Poolside Restaurant. As its name suggests, the restaurant overlooks the pool, which is surrounded by the hotel's beautiful, uniquely landscaped grounds. In addition to hotel guests, many others enjoyed brunch poolside, in particular the morning after the Stanford-Washington football game. Hotel guests might want to make reservations if they are staying at Dinah's on football weekends. The food was fantastic, including omelets and biscuits and gravy, Dishes were flavorful but not too heavy, and fresh fruit was offered as an alternative to hash browns. While breakfasts were great, we also enjoyed dinner one night. I had the lamb chops and my daughter enjoyed the classic fried chicken. Of course, I was thrilled to find Trader Vic's mai tai on the cocktail menu. It tasted as good as the ones I used to enjoy at Trader Vic's in Chicago. I will definitely stay at Dinah's again--and enjoy the Poolside Restaurnt-- if we visit the area again.

For some reason I seldom eat at hotels where I am staying, so I hesitated to have dinner at the poolside restaurant on our third and final night at Dinah's. It should always have been our first choice. We had a jam-packed schedule at the Stanford reunion and the kids hadn't had time earlier to go to the pool. The kids swam and ate and the rest of us enjoyed the charming poolside atmosphere in typical California autumn weather. Relaxing and decompressing was a great way to end the trip.

The service we warm and friendly. We chose a table outside of the open-air building to be closer to the swimmers, and the staff did a lot of work to move a heater close to use.

I saw a lot of comfort food on the menu, including a more than basic, deluxe macaroni and cheese, meat loaf, fish and chips and spaghetti and meatballs. Lest you think the place drab and old fashioned, the burger is Wagyu, there are other seafood dishes including a risotto paella, and free-range lamb chops among other dishes. I gave a nod to staying healthy by having a beets-and-berries salad topped with salmon.

I don't know prices in the area, but these seemed about right. The meal was not neither cheap eats nor terribly expensive.
