We really enjoyed staying at Casa Cody with our 5 yr old son. Beautiful grounds, lots of space to run around in areas fenced off from the pool. Also enjoyed the pool and breakfast and grapefruit off the tree. We had a studio with a private patio. Its a beautiful place and is walking distance to restaurants (including child friendly ones), ice cream shops, shopping and the Art Museum, which is also wonderful.

Room Tip: If you have small children, rooms with private patios are great. The little studio by the adobe house is perfect, area is fenced off from pools.

Visited Palm Springs and stayed at the Casa Cody for the first time last January 2011. We brought our dog and were given the standalone cottage studio towards the back (#18 I think?) We arrived late on Friday night and were greeted warmly by a staff member who was waiting for us, walked us to the cottage, and let us know she had turned on the light and heat for us so we could settle in right away. How thoughtful and what a personal touch!!! The cottage has tile floors, perfect for our dog (for any dog, really, who may smell any previous dog's markings and mark as well, so we try to stay away from carpeted rooms... suffice to say our dog didn't mark, so she didn't smell anything, so they clean this place real good!). Cottage was clean, warm, quiet, bathroom was sufficient, kitchen was sufficient but we didn't cook anything, private back patio is where we hung out when we weren't out exploring the town or on a walk. We practically had the whole back wing to ourselves and let our dog off leash to potty late in the evenings and early in the morning. Our dog also loved romping around the large lots of grass and she/we didn't have to worry about other people and dogs. Other guests were on the other side of the complex. Breakfast was OK, I never complain about free food :) We used the hot tub really quick one evening while our dog was sacked out early from playing all day. Parking and in-and-out access were easy. The grounds are beautiful and oh-so-quiet. You can hear horse-drawn carriages on the street at night.
The only negatives about our stay: Mid-afternoon on Saturday, there was construction on a new unit (behind the hot tub) and making a whole ruckus. This was only a nuisance because being our first trip with our dog, she wasn't comfortable and so we didn't sleep too well the first night (had nothing to do with the quality of the beds or anything) and were taking an afternoon siesta only to be woken up to chainsaws and hammering. The only other negative is that there was some dude who was neither short-term guest nor staff who was trolling the place, chatting up a storm with guests. Friendly.. but a little over-friendly, and it seemed he was trying to network with whomever he thought could hire him or just listen to him ramble. I'm on vacation, I don't like to talk about my work or politics or your work, and so I'm just going to be rude and anti-social and go back to my room now, thankyouverymuch. Perhaps both of these issues have been resolved this year... and I can't wait to go back! ;) Overall, a very relaxing stay!

I've stayed at Casa Cody numerous times over the years and it used to be my favorite location in Palm Springs. Three things went wrong this time that have convinced me that it's time to start looking elsewhere. 1. They allowed someone to have a 2 day wedding reception on the grounds. It was so loud that the walls of our rooms were vibrating. This is a small inn. There is no ballroom. The reception was outside and the speakers that were being used for this party could have been used at a concert venue. So many of us went to complain and were just told there was nothing they could do about it. We finally had to call the police on our own and they came and shut it down. 2. When you see pictures of the inn at night on their website, you will see that it's all lit up with little white lights around the trees and buildings. The little white lights have been out for over a year now and whenever you ask about it they have a new excuse why. Except for the light from the inside of the pool it's extremely dark out there. Pay the money and buy some new lights or turn them on!! 3. The maid service is getting worse and worse. We stayed for 3 days and not once was the sink or vanity in the bathroom cleaned. This place is definitley not the cheapest in town and used to be worth the money. Not anymore.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Cody in October and had a wonderfully peaceful time. The grounds are beautiful and it’s hard to beat the resort’s location. It’s only two blocks from the strip, that part of downtown Palm Springs that has numerous shops and restaurants. We were there for a bike rally and VillageFest, which occurs very Thursday.

This was a beautiful spot just two blocks from the main road. The breakfast was very enjoyable by the pool side. The rooms were very clean and the staff were very friendly.
We had a great time at our friends wedding held at Casa Cody.
