“It is alright.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

Overall it is nice. Has plenty of amenities and a friendly staff.
Great location and there are often cookies in the lobby in the afternoon.

However,

Wifi was often slow and very very finicky.

Room service was odd...There were no trashbags in the trashcans and the cleaning ladies would come pick up "trash" that was not in the garbage cans...so I just always left a "do not disturb" sign on the door just in case.

The staff is very friendly and polite. They are quick to react to issues as they arise. Unfortunately, issues will arise. The thermostat in the room wouldn't come on. When I finally got the AC on, blew warm air. As I noticed, you could hear people running down the hallway from the floor above as well. Front desk switched me to another room. It too didn't have the AC on, however, I was able to get it on. Since they don't leave the AC on in their rooms, and its the middle of the desert, the rooms will be hot and stuffy when you first arrive. It will take awhile to cool them off (assuming your AC works). The towels were just thrown in the bathroom, and not neatly stacked (i wasn't sure if some had already gone through/handled them).

Do not plan on a good night sleep. The floors are super thin (as I mentioned before) and the walls are as well. You will hear the conversations of the rooms around you.

The decor/carpet is worn, though new tvs are in place. However, the beds/pillows are nice.

As a business traveler, i look for Hilton brand hotels. I find this one to be on par with the others in the Palm Springs/Desert area. Worn, questionable cooling. Most of my coworkers stay at the Marriott properties in the areas and have no complaints. I may sacrifice my hhonors points and stay there instead.

When i checked out in the AM, i had to use the front desk. They said they didn't get around to getting the receipts under the door. First time i've ever had to do that at Hilton Brand hotel.

Hotel is fine for those that travel infrequently and have lower standards. I noticed children enjoying the pool, and plenty of vacationers enjoying the standard free cookies. For those poeple, I add they have free mints too.

We were on a driving tour and I hadn't had a chance to check Trip Advisor (and only have a "dumb phone") for a place to stay. We found this hotel using hotel listings on our GPS and decided to stay here because they have a reputation for having a very good breakfast. We basically just wanted a clean, quiet place to sleep as we checked in after 8 p.m. For $139 I told my husband we'd also have a wonderful breakfast included. Very nice room and the beds were super comfy. Very clean, like-new hotel. Breakfast was really disappointing, though. They offered small Denver omelettes which I liked but hubby can't eat green peppers (they hate him) so he opted for hard boiled eggs and a toasted English Muffin. There was no meat offered, which is unusual for a breakfast room with their reputation. There was oatmeal, make-them-yourself waffles, cold cereal, fruit juices, bagels, muffins -- all the usual cold foods. Then there was the French toast "sticks." That looked like a really good idea; you could pick them up and dip them in the syrup! The guy sitting next to us told his friend, "These are awful" and dumped the two he had on his plate in the garbage. So, avoid the French toast sticks. Good coffee, though, and that is important!!! The breakfast lady, "Eli," was a real sweetheart. Next time I will do my homework on Trip Advisor before we go, though. This was a very nice place but not worth the money to us.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top/3rd floor so you won't have people walking over your head.

This place wasn't too bad. It's clean, easy check and checkout and free wi-fi is always a plus. Breakfast was available but it was only so so. The conveniences - freeway access, walking distance to a few places to eat and not too far to the tramway and other palm springs tourist traps.
