We dined at Roy's in Scottsdale, so we were looking forward to another fine meal in Newport Beach. We were not disappointed. The service both at the bar and in the dining room were what one should expect from Roy.

Three of us had dinner here and we enjoyed our food very much. We had the chicken dish, the mahi, and the jumbo shrimp. We were all very happy with our food, it was delicious and we ate every bite. However, I will say that my husband and son were still hungry when we left the restaurant. So if you have an appetite you may want to get an appetizer here to be full when you leave. Also the service was very slow and the restaurant was not crowded. I noticed that other people here in reviews had commented about that and clearly they were correct. So if you're in a hurry this is probably not the place for you. Also, know that it is pricey especially considering the small dish.

We dined at Roy’s last night for a birthday celebration dinner. I’m a little disappointed in Roy’s. They used to have special printed menus for the birthday celebrant etc. No more. Also gone, the great vegetarian entrees. Vegetarians are left with 2 entrees and one sushi roll. The vegetable napoleon is a grilled vegetable plate over mashed potatoes. The tofu “steak” is served over veg with a small side of rice. The food is tasty and the service is good but I miss the edamame, vegetarian bento box and rim fire tofu. Our server didn’t offer to see if anything special could be made for us. Such a shame.

Roy's consistently delivers fine food (especially seafood) prepared as if you are in Hawaii. Consistently delicious and well presented.

This location is a little dark but very nice.

We did not have a great experience at this Roy's. To start the service was extremely slow. Each course seemed like it took forever to arrive and when it did the food was cold. My other issue was that the portions were very small. I have eaten at other Roy's and have always felt that the portions were adequate. On the positive side one person in our party ordered the Filet and it was very good. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was terrible.
