Stagecoach Inn Museum
Attraction details
Reviewed 22 January 2018

This surprisingly complete museum complex includes a main building filled with 19th and early 20th century memorabilia, several outbuildings with stagecoaches, Indian village, adobe house, and school. The docents were all wonderfully informed and engaging.

The Stagecoach Inn Museum is a local gem. Although it is a replica (the original burned down), the authenticity comes through. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. An enjoyable way to spend a coup,e of hours.

A historical museum with replicated buildings of the Grand Union Hotel, Timber school and Newbury House.
Leaned much history about the city and the origin of the name “Newbury Park”.
The volunteered guides are very nice and willing to share their knowledge about the places. One of them baked the cookies with the recipe back in 1912. She also gave us a recipe of the cookies.
An interesting place and a relaxing place to explore and to take a walk.

History, architecture, and example of a simpler life. Nice collection of local artifacts that tell the story of the Conejo Valley. Building was reconstructed lovingly after it burnt down. Nice place to bring out of town guests.

This isn't just a museum. It's a lovely place to spend an afternoon. The main building, the former Stagecoach Inn, has many exhibit rooms that will transport you back to the Victorian Era. Though the building was reconstructed after a fire, it is so well done that it is on the National Register of Historic Places. After viewing the main building, ramble over to the Carriage House which is filled with old stagecoaches and hear some stagecoach lore. Down a short path, you'll come to Tri-Villiage, which consists of reconstructions of a pioneer home, The Newbury House, a Spanish Adobe and a small Chumash Village area. Don't miss the historic sycamore tree in the village area. A nature trail, just opposite of the outdoor oven will take you back to the main building and Timber School. The school is a reproduction of the original school built in 1875. Many of the building materials are from historic sites. Before you leave stroll through the rose garden and take a look at the antique farm equipment. All of the outside buildings are open on Saturday and Sunday. The main building is open Wednesday through Sunday, 1 - 4. Donations help support the Conejo Valley Historical Society.
