Great restaurant for steak in downtown Napa. The food was amazing. I especially liked the Oyster Rockefeller appetizer. Followed by a 10oz. filet with asparagus and scalloped potatoes. The ambiance is perfect for a date. Wine menu has a extensive selection or $30 corking fee if you bring your own.

Thank Joseph M

We booked this restaurant based on reviews we'd seen online and the fact that they appeared to be serving a more traditional Thanksgiving dinner (lots of other places were booked and/or had too "fancy" menus; for Thanksgiving, we just wanted "normal"). Anyway, the location is good, right in downtown Napa, the building is pretty and the hostess and servers were very nice. The drinks were not good (maybe we just made some bad selections?). Most disappointing was the meal. It was "traditional" but just very average at best, with the turkey not tasting very fresh. Nothing really stood out. My advice, if you're looking for a good, home cooked-tasting meal while in Napa for Thanksgiving, don't do it. Just pick a lovely restaurant (there are many) and save the traditional food for when you get back home.

My wife treated me here for my birthday. There's nothing I like better than a juicy cut of beef and Cole's Chop House knows how to deliver. First, the building is wonderfully old stone building that's in and of itself is a delight to visit. For those that love wine, this being Napa, Cole's has a vintage for every taste and pocketbook. I had the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. The Bearnaise sauce was equally as delicious. This was our first visit here and I'm certain it won't be our last.

We were recommended by the Candlelight Inn for a great dinner spot for my wife’s 40th birthday dinner. The food, drinks and atmosphere were outstanding.

I admit... we are from Texas... land of a great steak... so when we heard Cole's was the best Place to get a steak in Napa we thought we were safe. We immediately got off on the wrong foot when our 8:15 reservation turned into a table seating at 9:45... unacceptable. We had four couples and had no problem standing at the lovely, crowded bar with a nice cocktail... but not for an hour and a half!!! The manager on duty apologized and quickly placed a complimentary crab/ salmon appetizer in front of all of us ( one person is allergic, two don't eat seafood and the rest said it was tasty but at this point we were ticked off!!). Drink service was slow and it was 10:15 when our food started being served. Our waiter was very disgruntled when one guest politely complained that we were starving and abruptly served us as if inconvenienced. Steaks were over cooked.. the salad was overwhelmed by blue cheese, and then sea bass was horrible but thankfully we all filled up on wonderful sides which were the night's only saving grace. No apologies were handed out and we walked out of an $800 dinner disappointed. These Texans will not be visiting again anytime soon.
