My husband and I joined another couple for a weekend of wine tasting. The Victoria Inn was highly rated by other TripAdvisor friends, so we rented the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment that was named the Garden Room. Clean and spacious, but the very skimpy continental breakfast and the hefty $300/night price tag made us question whether it was worth it. We did enjoy Grounds Restaurant, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast there. While the room was fine, we will be staying somewhere else next time.

Stayed in Opi's Cabin - an adorable rustic room if you don't mind the double beds. Reasonably sized and nicely appointed with spacious bathroom including claw foot tub and shower. Excellent restaurant attached. Good location for many Gold Country activities including cavern tours, wine tasting and an excursion to the Giant Sequoias.

  • Liked — The uniqueness of our gold-rush era themed room
  • Disliked — No control over AC/heating

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Victoria Inn. I can not recall the last time I have stayed in such a well appointed room. Breakfast was INCREDIBLE between the warm scones and the frittata I ate very well. The location could not be better, great shops and restaurants were just steps away. I highly recommend the Victoria Inn.

We are repeat customers of the The Victoria Inn. It is the nicest little B& B that we have stayed in. The first time without the kids, we were upgraded from a small room to the Wisteria Room, a separate cabin in back. It was the nicest treat to have our own little dining area and king size hot tub in very cozy but spacious surroundings complete with fireplace.

We enjoyed our stay so much that we returned with our 2 young kids. They put us up in the same room and brought a folding fullsize bed for one of them. The other slept on a comfy sofa. And to boot, they brought dinner from the restaurant out in front to our dining table because we weren't able to get an early enough reservation. What service!

Michael, the owner, is a delight to talk to. He makes you feel right at home. And even if you have checked out, he welcomes you to rest on his porch, and use his facilities such as the phone and washroom.

And I might add that the complimentary breakfast is delicious. It is also very nice to be in the heart of Murphy's where it is a very comfortable walk around town.

A two thumbs up for two very pleasant stays at the Victoria Inn. We will definitely go back again!

The Victoria Inn (formerly the Redbud Inn) is a fabulous inn right in the heart of Main Street in the wonderful town of Murphys. The Inn is beautiful - we stayed in Room 11 (Goldfields) on the second floor. The room was decorated nicely with a VERY comfortable bed, and at $115 for a Saturday night stay, was a great bargain. There are other larger rooms which have outside balconies and fireplaces, they run from $165-$175 a night. There's even a private apartment cottage for $295 a night. The rooms incluce a wonderful complimentary hot breakfast in the restaurant, which is part of the hotel. We didn't have dinner in the restaurant, but it was full with people waiting to be seated when we came to our room after our dinner, so the food is probably terrific. The location of the inn is right on Main Street, and has ample parking in the back. Other great things about the Inn include no 2-night mimimum required (at least it wasn't when we stayed on Saturday in March) and wonderful hospitality from the inn owners. In summary, I loved the Victoria Inn and will definitely stay their again the next time I visit Murphys!!
