I needed to grab a quick bite and walked into Amarin. The Pad Se Eew did not disappoint. The place is simple, but hits the spot. Service is friendly. Definitely a good lunch spot in downtown Mountain View.

Delicious chicken satay starters, followed by a selection of dishes - best of which was the Penang chicken - lovely tasty sauce with a bit of heat to it. Friendly staff

Disappointing in a number of regards. Surprised at comments on the attractive decor -
- looks a pretty standard cheaper end Chinese/Thai restaurant in many other countries, certainly not going to win any interior design awards. Service was mediocre - irritating to have the next door table having come in 5 mins after us having their order taken before with our waitress going on walkabout. Starters of Tom Yum soup and beef satay. Soup had 3 shrimps and lots of sliced mushrooms - but no other herbs, or other solid ingredients. Beef was so tenderised it had a powdery texture which was not very appetising. Satay sauce ok - but too much sugar. Bangkok chicken was Thai Sweet and Sour- but a lot bigger plate than had in most other restaurants. Nothing like sweet and sour that I have had multiple times in Bangkok. A pork red curry was the other dish - it did not look anything like the photo lacking the larger piece of pork shown. The waitress said that it did look like we had the wrong dish, but the senior lady brought it back said that it was because they had run out of larger pork pieces at the same time as poking it around several times with her fork and putting it back on the table. Not something that was remotely appealing as a service and we sent it back to the kitchen with the dish itself being again unappetising. None of the dishes are that cheap - but the beer is well priced. The price of the pork dish was taken off and off we went not to be returning for a second try.

The food was great. Both my friend and I enjoyed our dishes and the appetizer we ordered. The server was friendly and efficient. The restaurant is fairly large with regular seating and an area for large parties with the more traditional, low table, seating. The restaurant is also very nicely decorated.

This is our second visit. One of the dishes was unexpectedly sweet last time, the other was I think basil fried rice which was good. This time we had cat fish & basil chicken.. the fish had a little stronger taste.. the curry of the fish was still good but the fried fish was not seasoned enough. The basil chicken.. lacked seasoning too. We wouldn’t go back there again. Also, the setting of the tables is too close in this place. There is nice seating on one half of the restaurant but I think that is for groups only.
