“Excellent family restaurant”
Reviewed 21 June 2012 via mobile

Although a chain this is the first location. Our server was attentive and prompt. The food servings were large and well prepared. Everyone enjoyed the food they had selected. The huckleberry ice cream was yummy and one scoop was plenty. Would stop again.

“Hearty Dining”
Reviewed 5 June 2012

Returned to Black Bear Diner after our first visit to the area seven years ago. Good food, family atmosphere. A bit disappointed to learn that BBD is a multi-state diner a la Denny's. I thought we had found a gem!

“I Think this is the Original Black Bear Diner”
Reviewed 2 June 2012

If you are traveling up I-5 you will inevitably notice Black Bear Diner signs along the interstate. And, if you are hungry, this is the place to go. We've probably been to a half-dozen or so different Black Bears and they are always good. From big breakfasts to steak dinners they have a menu to satisfy all. And the portions are uniformly large and delicious.

I think this is the original location and, despite their expansion, is still relatively new. We usually hit this one, or the Yreka one, on our way to Oregon and haven't had a bad experience yet. Like I have said before, make sure you grab a bearclaw before leaving. Absolutely huge. And if you have children, you'll appreciate the big selection on the kids menu.

Also, like all Black Bears, there is a little gift area with bear-inspired and berry items to buy.

“My favorite food at the Black Bear Diner/s”
Reviewed 29 May 2012

I love the Turkey Gobbler Sandwich, turkey, avocado, cranberry sauce, on choice of breads. It is a big sandwich. I like to try to down blackberry pie with ice cream afterwards but ya gotta be hungry to do that! Now that I don't live in this town and moved north I visit Black Bear Diner in south Medford, Oregon!
