This hotel is in an excellent location, easy to drive to the bay, Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, etc. Our room was very clean and well equipped with a mini-fridge and microwave. Bathroom was very large and the towels were nice and big. The staff was very friendly at check-in. They're working on making the breakfast room larger, so it was necessary to sit outside to eat, but it was very comfortable. Or you could take a tray to your room. There was a large selection of items at breakfast. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Stayed 2 nights. Rooms are well equipped with fridge and microwave.
Bathrooms fine.
Noise from airplanes and traffic and paper thin walls.
Found this place expensive for a motel. It's a 40 minute walk to the main part.
I suspect there's better places to stay for the same price

Hotel is located in excellent location. Very friendly & helpful staff. Great price with excellent breakfast Would stay here again and highly recommend. Hotel very clean and comfortable. Hotel set up and looks like little cottages.

Room Tip: There is no bad location. Hotel is all one level.

Ehhh! Very slow check-in and no advance check-in allowed. The room was clean but the furniture was uncomfortable. Standard with this chain - the breakfast room was way too small to handle the number of rooms.

Absolutely terrible. Booked it to visit the Aquarium with my family, including our two twin 1 year old babies. This is totally the opposite of what you'd expect from a family friendly hotel. The floor of the room was so dirty that we decided not to leave the babies to crawl around. Second day, we arrived totally tired at 10pm and the room was exactly as we left it - no cleaning at all. Cleanliness is obviously not one of the priorities of this place. The pool is cold (and Monterey is not a particularly warm place) and literally by the road, so not at all attractive. I have tried to call Choice Hotels several times to place a formal complaint, but there is no answer at all. A total waste of money, time and patience.
