We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We were in a tour but all the same were well looked after. The walk to the rooms is a bit long especially if it is cold outside. But otherwise the lobby is cosy and nice to sit around. it is not very big so if there is a large group you need to wait for your turn to sit near the fire space.

We checked in around midnight and they had to place us in a King room when we had 3 people. They were able to get us a rollaway, but after a LONG day of travel it was annoying. However, they did comp us $50 for the hassle. The next day, they were able to get us moved to a double room. We used the $50 at Knuckles, the sports bar onsite, which had plenty of different beers.

The rooms themselves were great. Spacious with a patio/deck and very well designed. It was a little awkward that the bathroom doors do not lock. They are just sliding doors and so let light (and sound) through. Might be awkward if you are not staying with someone who you are particularly close to. The beds were comfortable though and there was a hair dryer in the room. The hotel is also next to the highway and you can hear the traffic a little through the walls. I also didn't get cell reception in the room (I have Sprint) and had to go outside to use the phone.. except I could hear the highway even louder outside...

We stayed at this hotel for the Big Sur International Marathon. The logistics of it worked well, without many complaints.. but if I were to do it again I would try to book a room at the Wharf. Our buses were the last ones to arrive at the start and we wandered a while but didn't find a bus back to the Hyatt afterwards (we might have just missed it). We ended up getting on one of the MANY buses to Downtown/Wharf and ate there before taxing back to the hotel.

We booked the hotel though a tour company so our breakfast was included, but I definitely would not have paid the $21 for the buffet.

stayed at the hyatt recently for the Big Sur run. the staff was very friendly. the room was fine. bed very comfortable. very short drive to fishermans wharf, cannery row, aquarium. only issue was we had adjoining rooms. we went to sleep early to wake up at 4:30 AM for race day. the couple in the next room were talking till midnight. as the rooms were adjoined you could here every word. not good if trying to get some rest. overall nice hotel. if you want to rest in the evening or need a good nights sleep, would suggest requesting a room that is not adjoined if possible.

We stayed here only one night and were not so pleased. We found a great deal for a room on hotwire but were disappointed to find that there was a $20 resort fee that we were not told about. We were impressed at the size of the room. It was spacious with a comfortable king size bed and large bathroom. Unfortunately, the heating went down in the middle of the night which made our room extremely cold. We called the concierge and they brought in a portable heater that only helped a little. As we checked out, we complaint about the heating going down and they cancelled our resort fees. The resort is beautiful and the complimentary spa facilities are a plus (free access to pools, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms).

Cheers!
