All I needed was a shower and some sleep between flights, and this was a reasonably priced choice. I called them when I arrived at the airport, they told me exactly where to stand and that they would tell the shuttle driver to look for me, and the shuttle was there in five minutes. On a dark, rainy night, that was much appreciated. When I checked in, I asked where I could get some water, since I was thirsty from the airplane and it was late already, and the clerk handed me two bottles of water. Again, much appreciated.

The room itself had a faint mildew smell. It had some of those dark surfaces that you can't tell whether they're clean or not and very outdated decor, a fake colonial Spanish/Mexican look. But the bathroom was very clean, the water pressure in the shower was surprisingly good for California, and the bed was comfortable.

The little breakfast included coffee, instant oatmeal, pre-packaged muffins, boiled eggs, and pre-packaged "vegetarian omelet puffs," which the breakfast attendant heated up in a microwave for me. They did have a really nice selection of tea, including herbal, regular, and decaf. It's not a gourmet breakfast, but it was enough to get me started before my next flight, and it opens at 4:30 a.m.

The shuttle van back to the airport was prompt and quick, too. This is a place to stay for the airport related convenience and services, not for the hotel itself.

Staying at the Inn ... was relaxing ... less stress ... The Room was nice ... clean ..
cozy.
Parked the car for 14 days ... oh yes, they served breakfast. We were on the go because our flight was in the morning for China. My husband grabbed some egg sandwiches and pastries to go ... then came our shuttle ... on time. Dropped us
at Airport ... security checks .... sat down ... relax and ate our breakfast.
This is the way to go ...
When we returned ... called the hotel for pick up. And they did ... took us to our car.
Such a smooth transition. Only hotel .. that we can park our car for all 15 days !! Car was safe ..

Room tip: Good value hotel ... nice clean room, good breakfast, shuttle to airport, parking for 15 days ..

We stayed here for a night before our 5 day Cabo vacation over new years. The hotel is definitely dated, but our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They really have the park and fly system down and you don't have to worry about anything. When you return from your trip it's a short wait, but they drop you off right at your car so you can be on your way without further delay. They provide a free continental breakfast of pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and fruit starting at 4:30 am which was great because we had a really early flight out.

I stayed at the El Rancho Inn for 2 nights in January 2017. I am a new Best Western member and was upgraded to a suite upon check-in. The Inn is a rather sprawling complex with several buildings of rooms. It is old style with landings outside the rooms and air conditioners jutting out of the landing facing wall. The carpet is industrial type green.

The pluses - rooms including bathroom were clean. It is close to the airport and a shuttle leaves on the half hour and can pick you up at your room if you don't want to walk to the lobby. The staff were very nice and friendly.

The minuses - Looks like it hasn't been renovated since the '70's. I was on the second floor and the roof must have been leaking as it was raining. I found a wet spot on the carpet and then felt where it was coming from - the ceiling. The maid placed a towel over the wet spot and two trash cans to catch the water. The shuttle to the airport will make unannounced stops at other hotels, as well as picking up guests from other rooms at the Inn, so plan accordingly. Sound insulation is not good. You will hear the TV from the adjacent room. You will hear the Caltrain sounding its horn as the Inn is close to the railroad tracks so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. I as on the top floor but was pretty sure the folks below could hear me walking around on the creaky floor. There is a free breakfast of sorts - coffee, OJ, hot water. Packaged muffins and other greasy fare. Not up to par with other free breakfasts at other hotels. And for the cancer phobic, the room ceiling is the popcorn type which may contain asbestos.

You can take the shuttle to SFO and catch the BART into the city. But the shuttle does not run as frequently as other hotel chains' shuttles, so you will be waiting for a while. If you call the hotel from SFO, they ask you to spell your name, but nobody ever asks for your name, so why??? And the shuttle has "San Mateo" displayed on its front, so pay attention to the side banner which describes the Inn.

Overall a dated sprawling complex in a decent location for getting into the city, as long as the BART is running (which it was not for an extended period one evening). The Caltrain station is also nearby. Price is competitive.

I called to make a park and fly reservation and was told they now offer parking for 10 days instead of 14 and an extra day is now $10 instead of $7. We have been staying here for many years and appreciate knowing I will get to the airport on time and my car is well taken of. I will however be checking at different hotels in the future and compare prices

Thank you for your feedback. We are still operating the Hotel with the same management team. Unfortunately our costs to operate our Park and Fly program have increased so we have had to modify our Park and Fly offering. We still feel our Park and Fly program provides a great value.
