“My FAVORITE place on the mountain”

Andy's Mountain Grill & Deli

While I am very sad Andy's no longer serves breakfast (their UK-style baps were awesome), I never miss a chance to eat lunch here. Their fish & chips rock (crisp battered cod, fresh-potato fries), their firehouse melt has a sweet/spicy kick, and their onion rings are to die for. The dining area is compact, but if you are looking for local atmosphere then this is the place. Sometimes the wait is long because everything is made to order, but the food IS worth the wait.

Crowded area to order your food, not enough room to order and have the waitresses go by. We sat outside and had to wait a while but it was worth the wait. I had the buffalo blue cheese burger and it was delicious. They give you a mountain of fries - I hardly ate any. Next time we'll share an order :)

We stopped on our way to Pinecrest Lake to pick up some sandwiches and were pleasantly surprised by our options. This is a tiny little place cram packed full of choices from burgers and ribs to sandwiches ranging from deli to unique hot combinations. They have a good selection of craft beer and local wines as well as bloody Mary's and other cocktails. The sandwiches were so good we stopped on our way back and had some ice cream. The huckleberry was delish! Their sign says "good food not fast food" believe it and don't be in a hurry, it is worth the wait.

As a local, I've always loved Andy's! Handmade burgers, lots of varied choices, good prices. Nothin fancy, but a decent place to get a good sandwich!

It's is the best secret in the mother lode. It's tiny, so if you aren't local or looking for it, you might miss it - and you definitely don't want to miss this one.

Absolutely to-die-for hamburgers, great fries (I love their sweet potato fries). They also make amazing ribs. Order the ribs ahead for pickup and you'll have one happy family. Great selection of beers, too!

The only problem is they close pretty early (5:30) so plan ahead. Pick up the burgers to go, or have a fabulous lunch there. As their slogan says, they are not fast food - they are really good food.
