We tried stopping here twice while visiting Yosemite and they were never open even though their hours said they should be. Disappointed as we planned to try local wines while in the area.

This is a small place so the people who run it can pay lots of attention to you. It is a good place to hit in the early afternoon, especially if you are new in town and want to get your bearings while enjoying a taste of red wine. Very clean and well kept. Lots of work from local artists to talk about. The staff is outstanding and local.

You will love the ambience as soon as you enter the store....there is art work on display, jewelry, and of course, fine wine tasting...poured by the owners...who will answer any question you may have regarding the vineyard, the particular grapes and the bottling process...a very rewarding experience.

The surprisingly good wines here are all made from grapes grown in Mariposa county. Kris Casto served us six different wines and we enjoyed all of them. The 2013 "Gardner Vineyard" cabernet sauvignon was a standout and quite a bargain at $25/bottle. This wine won "Best of Class" at the 2017 SF Chronicle wine competition. If you are on your way to or from Yosemite, this spot is worth a stop.

An unassuming shop on the corner of 5th Street and Main belies real pros behind the counter -- winery owner Chris offers generous pours of her family's prized -- and prize winning -- reds and at no cost. We liked the Reserve Cab so much we bought it, while the Syrah and Syrah Port also caught our attention. Chris also recommended other places for food and beverage and she was spot on.
