My daughter found this vacation rental for our stay in Los Olivos. We arrange trips to the various wine regions a few times a year and decided to visit the Santa Ynez Valley for this visit. We have a fairly large family/friends gaggle so we needed plenty of beds and this lovely house fit the bill nicely.
As mentioned in the property description, this house was a duplex with front and rear entrances to what used to be two separate residences, upper and lower. The house is built on a hill overlooking the small downtown and you walk out the back gate and are 100' from your first winery. The house is close enough so that you can easily carry your wine purchases back to the house so that you do not have to lug them around.
There is tons of comfortable seating, fully-equipped kitchen upstairs and bar/minikitchen down, the beds were great, the wifi worked like gangbusters, and the view was lovely, particularly from the upstairs balcony. A large group of friends will find the house ideal. About the only negative is one of the upstairs bedrooms has to be walked through in order to get downstairs from the inside. Otherwise, there is a spiral staircase out on the balcony, but you do have to go outdoors to reach it. Not a big issue for us. We would rent again.
