Staying at the Hoxton made our trip feel special and luxurious without breaking the bank. All details are considered and are intentional. Perfect place to stay if you are going to a convention at the convention center or something in the DT area.

- hotel pool is "reserved" for restaurant over hotel guests after 5 PM (you are allowed to stay but not to wear a bikini?!)
- room does only get cleaned when you hang out a green card outside your room (i wasnt made aware of this fact the first night)
- staff feels artificially friendly, especially at the bar area (people at reception are nice though)
- not even close to a 4 star level & for the price of it you can get superb hotels even in the LA area

We were excited to stay here as we thought this looked like a very cool old building. The staff was incredibly friendly, and they helped with anything we asked. The rooms are tiny which is expected in DTLA. However, they could have done so much more to make the room more usable. There was not a single drawer for clothing storage in the room, instead there was a wall with shelves of "art" taking up space and a strange glass wardrobe so that anything you were able to hang up was on display. I hung up a couple of shirts and ended up having to leave most of my clothes stuffed in my suitcase and shoved under the bed. There were two of us for a 5-day stay which included several events meant that our clothes stayed mostly wrinkled. The bathroom lighting is non-existent at the mirror. I had to stand next to the windows to put on makeup. The headboard is impossible to lean against without pillows which fall into the crevice. There is no cleaning or service of the room unless you request it daily, so you are responsible for monitoring how much coffee, tissue, etc. you are going to need so that you can request it. We wanted ice, and they were happy to deliver it, but we couldn't just get it from a machine anywhere in the building. It just felt like a hassle to have to ask the desk to bring ice and then tip for it. It took WAY too long the first time we ordered, and the ice was consistently delivered in a plastic shopping bag with no way to keep it cold or upright. They should invest in some ice buckets. It was very noisy on Broadway, and my sleep (even with white noise going) was interrupted frequently by what sounded like loud music one night and street racing another night. The rooms looked beautiful, and the staff was great, friendly and always took care of all our requests. My quality of sleep was very poor. We did have drinks at the bar, and it was a very cool space with nice city views. It was very pricey even by DTLA standards--$46 with tip for 2 vodka and sodas. We looked at the pool area but did not spend any time there. It looked like a nice place to relax, but it is tiny. I would say that we were disappointed in our stay. It felt like a hassle to constantly self-manage our needs for the room by stopping at the desk daily with requests. It seems like a good plan for management to do things only if asked but a poor plan for guests to have to be in charge.

Stayed at the Hoxton for my graduation from USC. Excellent, Four Seasons-quality customer service all the way around. Minor issues dealt with seamlessly. Uber a mess and I would have missed graduation if it weren't for the amazing valet who drove us. Gorgeous aesthetics.

Cocktails @pool in PM lovely!

Hotel valet and front desk staff were friendly, wonderful and accommodating. Roof top bar not quite as much. We went up to get a drink and we’re directed to squeeze in at the bar. There were not two seats available so we had to go to the hostess and ask to be seated. Same person who told us to go to the bar then brought our drinks. Awkward! It was all fine but kinda weird. We got our drinks and enjoyed the lovely view.

Room was recently renovated and very comfortable and roomy king with an amazing view! Rainhead shower was fabulous!!!! Nice amenities, designer shampoo, water and milk in fridge if you cared to make a pot of tea. We had to get up early so didn’t get to enjoy that moment!

If I need to get a room in that area again would definitely consider this place! We enjoyed our stay and the location met our needs.

Room tip: If you have a vehicle your going to want to valet your ride and Uber everywhere! Downtown LA is chaotic at best!
