Stayed for a three day conference. Room was sufficient - however, paying for web access is completely ridiculous. Valet parking is expensive but provides a very convenient and friendly service. There are many surface parking lots surrounding the site and many are a fraction of the price. Just check to see if you can overnight first. My only complaint was my "obstructed view". My room's windows were covered with small bars - it did feel a little prision like. The hotel has large LED super graphics on many sides of the hotel - friends said I was staying in the Bud Light Palace. The advertisements are overkill. Kept the room because they checked me in a little early and had meeting to attend. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Was unable to check out electronically and had to have reciept emailed later.

Room Tip: My only complaint was my "obstructed view" (19th floor - go figure). My room's window...

I stay here if I can when I travel to Los Angeles. It is in a great location for most of Los Angeles with easy access on and off the freeways. There are great restaurants nearby and always something going on at LA Live. The rooms are quiet, well furnished, and comfortable. I have also attended meetings here and the meeting space is easily connected to the hotel rooms. One minor issue is the lack of a regular gift shop (the one they have is more like a boutique) so there is not place to pick up something you forgot.

The location is excellent. The Staple Center along with numerous restaurants and bars are located right next to the hotel. While I was there, they had a great jazz trio playing in the bar. The best thing about this hotel is the personnel. All employees were very helpful and friendly. Off special note is the young girl who registered me into the hotel and the concierge. Unfortunately, I can't remember their names but they were so helpful. The best part was that, after our initial meeting, they would also greet me when they happen to see me in the lobby! A return visit to this hotel is definitely in my future.

Room Tip: There is a ton of restaurants within the Staple Center complex so be sure to check them out.

This hotel as expected was very expensive. Other than the LA Convention Center not much around it to walk to of interest. Not many restaurants that are walkable in the area so you are locked into using their restaurant, unfortunately. Lobby sofas and chairs are showing wear, especially the front area, with the very squished Ikat print pillows, that look like someone spent the night on them. Staff are very professional and courteous. Rooms are spacious but rather cold and too slick for my taste. Could never get the room cool enough to sleep under the comforter, it was always too hot to sleep with anything other than the top sheet. No bath tub. Shower control for a rain shower was placed where no matter what you do you get hit with cold water to turn it on. Charge for internet in the guest rooms but in the public areas you could log on free only 1 time per day.

However, the worse thing was the food in the only restarant, LA Market. Cold atmosphere, all glass and cables. Service is good. Breakfast buffet is expensive but does have made to order omelets. DO NOT ORDER THE "FRENCH TOAST" It is basically 1/2 piece of a slice of bread. It was dry, it did not seem to have been dipped in a milk and egg mixture which would actually make it french toast, it just seemed to be bread toasted on a griddle. The Chop Chop Salad sounds delicious on the menu but the salad was cut up so small and mixed together with a strong over powering mustard vinegrette that you could not taste what little bacon or egg was actually in the salad (trust me, it was very little, just enough to be able to say these were ingredients). And run for your life away form the Messe Plate. I have to say it was actually terrible. I have never had tabuleh with no tomatoes, parsley, or onions in it. unitl I had it here. Just a bunch of bulgar wheat with no lemon juice, just tasted like water. Shame on this chef!!!

The only good thing on the menu was their very expensive LA Market Hamburger which was actually surprisingly good. Had it 2 nights in a row as nothing else was truly edible.
