We traveled a long distance to get to California & to visit Long Beach & Los Angeles. Our only guide was the internet & Expedia as far as making reservations & we were very pleased with THE WESTIN LONG BEACH. The hotel is very elegant & in a good location in regards to walking to shopping & eating. We used public transportation to get from the cruise ship dock to the hotel. By using public transportation we saved money & then we used public transportation to get back to LAX, which picked us up 2 blocks away. The hotel also has a real nice restaurant with good food & a bar & a gift shop, that we appreciate. The concierge desk was also very helpful. Also, the view from our hotel room was AMAZING. With the design of the hotel it looked as though our room was right over Ocean Blvd & what a nice view.

Room Tip: Probably the higher the floor would be better,to get away from traffic sounds at night.

Great experience. Front desk was personable and helpful. The room clean, comfortable and quiet. A/C was quiet as well and of course there was the Westin bed. Breakfast was fine, server was a bit rushed but fine.

my stay at the westin was just ok... the furniture had knicks and not to my standards for this rate of hotel , i did recieve exceptional customer service from Michael C at the front desk... he was very patient and courteous as well as having an answer and solution for my every concern. he is a great asset to the hotel for assisting their guest

My husband and I have had amazing experiences at the Westin Indianapolis, so we really trust the brand. However, we weren't as impressed with this destination.

We rushed back from a wedding on Sunday evening to get into the spa. We got into our room, threw our swimsuits on, and dashed out. However, when we tried to use our keys to enter the gym (which led to the pool area), they wouldn't work. We were confused as we'd just used one of them to open our own room minutes ago. We went back to our room and to our surprise, the keys no longer worked on our own door either! I guess they must've gotten demagnetized somehow but we aren't sure how since it had to have happened within the span of probably no more than four minutes and they'd only been in our hands at the time.

If the security guard hadn't happened to be wandering around on our floor, we'd have had to go down to the lobby in our swimsuits for new keys. The guard took our old keys, let us in our room, and told us we'd receive new keys immediately. Twenty minutes later and no one had arrived with new keys. We had to call downstairs and ask for them again. And after all that, the guard went to close the pool so no pool time after all that rush. :(

The amenities at the Westin are always nice, but we've just seen way better service in different locations.

This Westin is just so-so. It was nothing spectacular. You can hear others in rooms and hallway around you. Rudely awakened by angry loud protesters out front of hotel chanting for over an hour with a bull horn early this morning. Forced me out of my Heavenly bed by 8 am on a Sunday which I had not intended to do. Hotel staff said sorry but there is nothing they can do. Hmmm. Maybe comp your hotel parking or anything to compensate for the not-so restful stay!!! Disappointed.
