5 day stay for business and a conference... nothing at all to complain about and the rooms / facilities are relatively up to date and clean. staff are friendly and there is plenty of space to relax and hang out... and also to meet. gym facilities are ok and the pool is outdoor and warm...
the food was of good quality...

This is our second visit to this hotel for Catholic Answers Conference. We were remembered and treated well. We were allowed to check out a half hour late with advance notice. We also appreciated having a refrigerator for our room.

This hotel is well kept. It is large. More fancy than where we usually stay, but a remarkably good conference price. A very nice pool and play area. Parking is expensive. The surrounding area is congested and what I would call complex - as to getting around in a timely manner. We didn't realize refrigerators were available upon request, depending on availability. I wish we knew that ahead of time, or were offered that upon check-in.It is a large facility and one could stay within it the entire time, if the purpose was a conference. For sightseeing, it would mean a lot of in and out of a parking structure that takes a bit of time to get to, and driving in traffic to get somewhere. We brought enough food for our breakfast meals and lunches and refilled our ice chest each evening. We left the hotel and drove to a nearby restaurant for dinner - took a long time due to traffic, just on the surrounding streets. And, I am familiar with traffic - commuting in Los Angeles; but for a vacation, I would prefer to not be in this traffic. Not many restaurants to easily walk to.We thought of having our daughter and family come and visit us in the lobby and play area for a couple of hours in the evening, as they live about 30 minutes away. But we did not do that because parking for them would have been expensive; there is some street parking but we couldn't guarantee it would be available when they arrived, and from the street or the parking structure, it's a long walk with two small children.

The hotel had a very nice entertainment area which is great for families. there was ping pong, foosball, big connect four, and big jenga. The pool was nicely heated. All the rooms were very modern. This place gives good value for their rooms.

As a very frequent traveler, I nearly always have great experiences at Hyatt, particularly the Regency properties. Not so with this San Diego property -- it's in need of a facelift. Location is great but thin wall insulation allowed me to share in all my neighbor's conversations and the leaky bathroom fixtures put a dent in the State water supply. The Concierge Room was a bit crowded with menu quality less than expected. Staff was good but facility is better signed under the Hyatt Place badge. Will be elsewhere next time but there's an opportunity to bring this one back up (hope so).
