There were a lot of negative reviews about Seabreeze which did make me reluctant to book. However, they were very professional with only one slight hiccup. An agent was supposed to meet us at the property to greet us and never showed or phoned. Not a problem,we just used the door code and we were in!
Upside: Truly just three blocs from the beach, with the wonderful tide pools in both directions. Just another three blocks away from getting into all the wonderful shops and restaurants, a few blocks further to get to all of them. The house is absolutely enormous. Enough room for two families. And, it was very clean! Good hot water and good showers. Good value for the money I felt, considering the area.
Downside: The house has a lot of deferred maintenance, but of the kind that would bother you more as an owner than as a renter. The master bedroom on the top floor is open to the downstairs, so no privacy there if you have kids. It is on a very busy street, so if you are a light sleeper beware. The balconies face west and there is no shade there at all so we didn't use them. Some umbrellas would really make a difference. The wifi is practically non-exist. So if you're trying to catch up on work at the office forget about it, no chance. The TV's do not have the HD boxes. I find this all the time at rental houses. HD boxes cost very little to upgrade and make such a huge difference. The TV's themselves are very nice, but you're getting a 1995 picture on a 2018 TV, what's the point?
Overall, you spend most of your time outside and traveling around the area and this house is a great base for that. With three floors of living there is plenty of space to spread out. Getting out to downtown San Diego was only 20 minutes most of the time.
