We randomly drove by on the Highway 12 after celebrating our Leapyear Day Wedding, looking for the perfect place to cocoon ourselves for a day. After all the high energy leading up to our day, imagine the joy of finding the Kenwood Inn and Spa. Set back from the Highway, we were amazed how once you entered the property, we were drawn into a magical oasis of calm. Our room overlooked one of many lovely features in their courtyard(s), all of which lend themselves into making us feel we were in a Tuscan village or a world gone by in old California. A swim on the 29th of February in the pool kicked off a delicious stay. The amenities, room, and restaurant are all top class. Indeed, courtesy proseco and a bubbling bathtub with music piped in from the bedroom made the stay extra special. I can without reservation recommend this place, and hope to return again.

I'll start by saying that we live in the area, just a few miles away. So to spend a weekend so close to home is a reflection of how spectacular this resort is - and we felt as if we were hundreds of miles away.

The room (#30) was fabulous; large room, wonderful views, privacy, comfortable, amazing decor, and romantic - loved the fireplace and overstuffed chairs. The bed was really comfy complete with top-notch linens. The bathroom was beautiful and we really enjoyed our jacuzzi tub each evening. I was very impressed to see that they supplied a diffuser along with a hairdryer; I have not seen this during any of my travels, and I travel a lot. They thought of everything! Even the chocolates left during the evening turn-down service were to die for.

We also indulged in a spa treatment; I had a facial and a massage and my husband enjoyed a 90 minute deep-tissue. All was very good and we left feeling pampered and relaxed. They offer a glass of champagne to get you in the mood prior to your spa treatment, and it sure did the trick for me! My husband and I both commented on the interesting XM spa music that was piped into the rooms, funny that we both noticed that, but we are spa snobs.

It was our fault that we didn't notify the restaurant prior to our visit that we are vegan. They did their best to accommodate our dietary restrictions and we appreciated it. Learn from our mistake and give them plenty of notice and they will serve you up something delicious.

You must stay here if you are in the area, it is too good to pass up!

Room Tip: We stayed in room #30 and loved it! Although I'm sure all of their rooms are fabulous.

I have been all over the world and this place is one of my favorites. The amazing breakfast in the courtyard, the relaxing pool that has private patios as well as lounges poolside, the spa the rooms - I can't say enough about this place. It is worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and stay here - you will not regret it!

We recently spent four days at the Kenwood Inn & Spa and were treated like royalty. The staff saw to our every need, especially Lynn, Marcia, Misty, and Steve in the restaurant/wine bar area. The breakfast itself is a work of art every morning and at times it looked to beautiful to eat. (although I must say we gave in.) We traveled with another couple and commented several times how it felt like we were being pampered as if we were the only people staying there, although we werent.
The lack of television in the room did not prove to be a negative at all, in fact, it was quite refreshing to "unplug" from our busy and hectic lives. When you walk into the room, you are greated with soothing classical or jazz music coming from the wall speakers which you can adjust or turn off in the main area as well as the bathroom. The traffic from the road is a little distracting, but not overbearingly so--we compensated for this by simply playing a "white noise" app from our smartphone which we are accustomed to listening to at home anyway. We loved our stay from beginning to end at the Kenwood Inn & Spa, and certainly plan on returning.
