Decent happy hour.
It was okay....ordered the parmesan encrusted tilapia....it could have used more flavor. I had a mojito and that could have been used a bit more sugar to sweeten.
was in town recentlyu for work and was disappointed when i went across the street frm my hotel to mcormick restaurant and couldn't get a table. i hadn't made a reservation as it was last minute. one can, however, eat in the bar the same menu as the dinng area and with
much prettier service too. waitress was very helpful as i'm from texasand not big on seafood, she helped me pick items i ended up loving the shrimp risotto- really delicious! desert was great too, i even indulged in a nice port wine after. never had a better evening with such a helpful and genuinely smiley hand picked server in orange
county, theyre usually so snotty, she was even kind when i practiced my tex mex espanol
I took my department out to lunch at McCormick in Irvine on 12/28. The food was very mediocre and the service below average. They are highly rated and look very important and lots of staff is around wearing their white tops but it's not a fashion show, it's the food that counts. I had the wild Alaskan salmon which was very dry and plain unfresh tasting. I love salmon and I think this was the first time I didn't finsh salmon on a plate. Other people in our group weren't exactly thrilled either. One order was messed up and iced teas were not refilled. To summarize, Opah is a much better choice if you're looking for a formal sit down fish place and California Fish Grill is great for casual dining. Don't waiste your money on McCormick.
