We stayed three nights in a twin room. This is very much an older style motel, but updated with most features you would expect these days. The room was small but clean, with the usual tea/coffee facilities. It had a microwave and reception promptly provided a toaster on request. Luckily the weather was generally cool as one of the big negatives was an air-conditioner which made a high pitched whine, even in hot weather you would not be able to put up with it for long. The bathroom was also clean, but tiny and very cramped - it did have a full sized hand basin which was welcome even though it added to the congestion in the room. The shower itself was roomy enough and had good pressure.
Noise from Glen Osmond Rd (highway) was not a problem as all the rooms face away from the road and the worst the traffic noise got was a dull rumble. More of a problem was noise from other rooms, the sound proofing is poor. Also a problem, because the double-storeyed building is around a sort of open-sided courtyard, is noise from guests returning after midnight and talking loudly and slamming doors; also early morning smokers not keeping to the designated smoking area so you get smoke pouring in every time you open the door - while such behaviour cannot be controlled by the motel, it detracts from any stay.
Parking is a bit of a free-for-all, you park where you can find a space, and I'm not sure there are sufficient spaces for all rooms.
The motel is about 4.5km from the CBD. There are at least four supermarkets within walking distance, as well as three restaurants across the road and several other eating options all within walking distance.
Good value for money, despite the negatives.

I last stayed at the Welcome Inn Glenunga at Christmas time in 2016. and was surprised how quiet the motel was, even though it was on a main road. That was an false observation because it was Christmas and truck traffic was minimal.
During this overnight stay the noise from trucks and hoons was very intrusive. This was compounded in the late evening by noisy road works in front of the motel. Thankfully, they ceased at 12.15am. Traffic noise during the early hours of the morning was minimal, but at 0530 it increased significantly. Unfortunately, I had left my silicone earplugs at home.
On the plus side, the room was clean, smelled nice and had the minimal tea and coffee and toiletries The bed was comfortable and warm with spare pillows The air conditioner heats as well as cools which was good because the weather was quite cold. The fridge is noisy when it cuts off. The lack of convenient power points means the laptop is un-plugged during use. WiFi was free, strong and reasonably fast.
A minor problem at check-in. While my booking said $89, the motel computer said $150. It wasn’t until the receptionist phoned the manager that the $89 was confirmed.
It’s a nice, inexpensive motel, but far too noisy for me.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room, but I think there's only one

The room and amenities are cleaned, the facilities are just renovated. The location is convenience to go to city or near by freeway to Hahndorf. It is near by supermarket, pharmacy and some restaurants. There are refrigerator, microwave, kettle and small table for 2. They do have room for family of 4 as well.

Room Tip: if you prefer quieter room, it is less bright due to lesser sunlight from windows

It was great staying in this lovely little motel. The rooms are adequate in size. Mattresses are pillow top and comfortable. A couple of gripes... there was no milk suppliedand while it had a microwave, there were no dishes or cutlery to eat with. The room had a lovely fragrance throughout. Room 8 is up the back under the stairs and a little dark, but I preferred it to the units closer to the street. However, there is noise coming from the laundry across the hall during the day.

Room Tip: Take a room away from the main road.

As the adage goes You get what You pay for but this place is an exception. Last minute business trip to Adelaide. Typical of Radelaide to cram everything in at the same time !! Unless You live in this back water how would You know there is the show on the fringe festival also guns and roses playing and then the lead up to the clipsal wahtever it is. Accommodation is at a premium $'s. No matter found this place on Glen Osmond Road, seems to be frequented by interstate tradies and sales reps. Good value and location. Really can not fault, best part was the kind and friendly staff at the destk - many thanks for being so genuine , people of your calibre are few and far between in the city of churches. Highly recommend and will return but keep in mind it is 3.5 star I would rate it at 4 !! Thankyou for accomodating Me at the last minute.
