“A Gracious Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2011

Highly recommend. Keren & John are gracious hosts and with the Inn's period decor, we considered ourselves guests in their home. John's breakfasts are delicious and the evening wine hour is a pleasant experience - looked forward to John's homemade pizza but afternoon showers precluded firing up the o/s oven. Great location for our initial visit (Michiganders) as we were able to take day trips to the coast and upper Napa Valley as well as "local" wine tastings.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. John made us feel right at home with the late afternoon happy hour and excellent full breakfast the next morning (he is a chef—wonderful food and presentation). Keren was less welcoming, more businesslike. We stayed in the Garden Room, which while small, was clean and bright. Easy walk to the town square and all the shops and restaurants. Very good value for the Healdsburg area. The innkeepers do not live on site, so keep that in mind if you're planning a late arrival.

I am not huge fan of B&Bs, they can be hit or miss in my opinion. I selected this one on a friend's recommendation and I am very glad I did. The room was super comfortable, and the setting could not be more charming, with lush garden all around. But what makes this inn special and sets it apart, is the super deluxe breakfast and the evening wine hour. John, one of the owners, is a professional chef and cooks a three course breakfas evary day. I never had stuffed french toast before and it was delicious. John has built a pizza oven in the garden and on weekends the guests can sit in the lush garden sipping wine and watching the master at work, baking all kinds of pizza for immediate consumption. His wife Keren is a gracious hostess and an expert on all local attractions.
If I had one wish it's for the morning coffeee to be available a bit sooner than 7:45AM. Perhaps a self-service would be an option that would not inconvenience the hosts. Coming from the East coast it was a torture to wait till almost 11AM Eastern time for a cup and I ended up walking to town. If, like me you are from the east, bring some little snacks to hold you over. But do not oversnack, because that breakfast is well worth the wait.

Room Tip: The Blue room is more economical because the bathroom is detached, across the hall. It's still a...

Healdsburg is a lovely small town in Sonoma County and this B&B is in just the right location, 5 mins stroll from the main plaza and loads of great restaurants and super shops. My wife and I stayed here 3 nights and found the accommodation first class and that the breakfast could not be bettered! Excellent location for Alexander Valley, Russian River (have lunch at Korbel deli) and Dry Creek. Definitely highly recommended!

We were traveling down the oregon and california coast during the first week of August. We did not have a reservation in the Healdsburg, Ca area but wanted to stay close by. I searched on line while traveling and found Haydon Street Inn B&B. I called and they had an opening for Wednesday eve. This fit our timetable perfectely. We were very please when we arrived and saw how charming the home was. We were welcomed by the owners and invited to a town center party in the square. We spent an evening listening to music, enjoying wine and snacks while visiting with the other guests and the owners. The room was very nicely decorated and we felt comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and nicely served. We again met the other guests and enjoyed a nice visit with a great breakfast. We look forward to staying again and hopefully enjoy the home made pizza cooked in the outdoor brick oven on a lovely patio.
