We found this B&B through the Healdsburg Chamber of Commerce website and loved it. The house was full with people in the area for a bike ride, but privacy was not an issue. The owners, Jerry and Harold, put on an amazing breakfast and wine/cheese on the deck in the evening. On the weekend that we were there, they even created an entire Thanksgiving dinner one night that was included!

They were working on the deck/pool area when we were there, but the pool looked very nice and the plans should make the deck spectacular.

If I had to find a complaint, it would be the road noise that comes off the nearby highway, but it was not very bad at all.

Both hosts are very welcoming and personable. Jerry has a great knowledge of the wineries in the area and can provide discounts at some. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to go to Sonoma.

I have enjoyed the many reviews on this site over the years and have enjoyed the hospitality at Villa Bella Messina for three separate trips over the past year so think it would be good to share our favorite place to stay in the California wine country.
We first learned of this B&B in Healdsburg when our sister & her husband stayed for a weekend last Spring. The proprietors, Jerry & Harold, welcomed us for their afternoon wine & cheese (cocktail hour) in their typically hospitable way even though we were not paying guests.
We have since been back three times (summer, fall & winter 2007) staying in both the French and Asti rooms. The rooms are very comfortable with all the amenities you could possibly want and all are decorated with great taste. Both Jerry & Harold are not only incredibly friendly and warm but they are also very knowledgeable about the area, the wineries and the people that make this area the place that it is. Also, they have never recommended a restaurant to us that wasn't great. Breakfast has always been very nice and they  have been very accommodating to diet restrictions while still offering a tantalizing variety of food including  delicious fresh fruit.
Villa Bella Messina is located on a hill overlooking Healdsburg & the vineyards of the wine country so each of the five rooms have lovely views. Jerry & Harold have just completed some renovations & the place is even nicer than before.
We would not hesitate to recommend this wine country B&B to any of our friends or family and consider this our home away from home in the California wine country. When we return in a few months, I will try to take some pictures to post to this site as I know it is nice to see pictures that guests have taken. Highly recommended.

We stumbled on this wonderful gem on a recent trip to the Sonoma area to do some wine tasting and relaxing. The owners, Jerry Messina and his friend Harold have created a very comfortable guest environment in their home. Jerry is the warmest, most animated, genuine people I have ever met. He truly loves what he is doing and is genuinely excited about every one of the guests that is lucky enough to have found this beautiful home. From recommendations for wineries to great places to eat, Jerry and Harold have wonderful and refined tastes. The home is filled with antiques and has a 360 degree view of the Dry Creek Valley and Healdsburg. The "cocktail hour" is a great way for all the guests to share the days experiences while having a great bottle of wine with cheese and fruit that Jerry puts out. Breakfast is amazing, full of fresh fruits, cooked dishes, etc. The rooms are very comfortable and decorated with antiques. Centrally located to many wineries and minutes from downtown Healdsburg.

My girlfriend and I recently returned from a trip to the Sonoma/Napa wine country and had an absolutely delightful stay at Villa Bella Messina. The "harvest" time in the wine country can mean very few options for lodging to the last minute traveller, so we were lucky to find something. That being said, I could not find any review of this property online and but decided to book at this B&B and take a chance.

This was our first experience in a B&B and let me just say that it was nothing short of amazing. Innkeeper, Jerry Messina is without a doubt one the nicest, most hospital people we have ever met. So helpful, warm and accomodating and just plain fun to hang around with!

Soon after our arrival during the daily "cocktail" hour- I knew we had a made a great decision to stay here.

Breakast every morning was incredible! Pineapple french toast to die
for!!! The scenery, location and most of all Jerry and Harold made this a trip to remember- We are going to book again soon for next year.

Villa Messina I would rate 6 out of 5 stars! Highly recommended!
