“Great tasting...definitely GO!”
Reviewed 17 January 2012

You have to make an appointment for the full tour and tasting, but its worth it. The facility is great, and the tasting makes for a very special experience when you are in the Library room.

“Exquisite Wines and Setting”
Reviewed 30 December 2011

Lancaster Estate is the brainchild of Ted and Nicole Simpkins and it shows all of the markings of success. Elegant setting, elegant wines and a winemaker and staff to match. This cabernet house knows how to make and present wines that are cellar ready but also drinkable today. Jesse Katz has worked with the best (Paul Hobbes) and Screaming Eagle and is putting that know how to work at Lancaster. The rest of the staff, lead by Damon, Emery and Andrew present the public face of the Estate with grace and aplomb! Here here!!!

“Real Wine Drinkers Only!”
Reviewed 11 September 2011

What an amazing experience!!! This is a breath of fresh air for people who want to taste a real quality wine, rather than those getting drunk off of chemical stuff on the tour buses. My husband, (who is from Italy and knows his wine) called it one of the best, most unique wine experiences he has ever had. Sarah, our guide, was friendly, personable, and extremely knowledgeable about the vineyard, production, and zone in general. They give you real personal attention, and treat guests extremely well! Above all, the wine is phenomenal, and you get to taste a wide range of different types- and extremely high quality samples (they don't just give you the cheap stuff). It looks a little stiff and snooty from the website and entrance, but don't let that put you off. The $20 you pay is more than worth it (they even let you taste the grapes off the vines!)- it truly is a hidden gem. You can even reserve online. If you are looking for a high quality tasting, and personalized tour, look no further! Best of all there was no pressure to buy (bottles range from $35-65), but we are now considering joining the wine club here!

“Beautiful unique wine tasting experience”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

This tour/wine tasting was unique and totally worth the $20 tasting fee. It started with a tasting of a white wine right away, in the tasting room. We then walked over to the vineyards, and then into the wine caves where the wines are stored for a private tour. The tour ended with an hour long seated tasting and discussion about Lancaster wines in the caves. I went with a friend, but it would be a perfect romantic date.

“Wow! This is a must do if wine tasting in...”
Reviewed 5 October 2010

Wow! This is a must do if wine tasting in Sonoma. We had an unbelievable experience with Andrew. He was very knowledgable and interesting to listen to. He showed us this fascinating estate and filled us in about the proprietors and experts there. This winery is truly a Sonoma gem.
