Bakeries, New Age stores, cafes, Mexican food, if you can't find it here, you don't need it.

“One of my favorite local places”
Reviewed 8 January 2012

Good restaurants, old time feel, nice shops, near the river. Great for an hour or two. New parking garage at the end.

“They pulled it off”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

We had great concerns when the City of Folsom decided to remove all those nice trees in the middle of Sutter Street and rebuild everything with more parking and all. For a while it looked truly awful. The entire character of Sutter Street and Old Folsom seemed gone. But now that it's all done, it actually looks very nice. I still miss the trees, but overall the area looks and feels much more cohesive, and it also has been extended with new buildings and businesses. Let's hope they get enough traffic and visitors to reward the merchants who took a chance with the new Old Folsom.

“fun historic street with cute stores”
Reviewed 5 January 2012

Sutter Street isn't exactly as it looked before the recent alteration, but its been there since 1856 and a lot of the buildings date from the 1800s. There is a neat variety of stores there, including old lace and fabric shops, Pacific Western Traders (the coolest Native American goods store on the planet), Snooks candy, and home decor and furniture and home goods stores. Still a few antique shops left too. And about three or four places to taste wine, which is fun. Restaurants include mexican, pizza (2 of these), german, chinese, coffee shops, you name it. There is also a microbrewery and lots of entertainment, including Sutter Street Theater and Powerhouse Pub, which both have live performances. Also the street hosts big events, like Folsom Live and various crafts and antique fairs. Lastly, there is the Folsom History Museum and the Pioneer Village, both run by the historical society, that are educational and fun for kids. Make a day of it!

“A great place to bring out of towners”
Reviewed 30 December 2011

With the restaurants, the bars and the River close by, it makes a great place to bring your out of town guests for an afternoon of strolling the streets.
