Wally's is located off of San Pablo Ave right across the street opposite Safeway where parking is easier…actual location at the back of the Bank Club dive bar…can be accessed on the side of the building through a small passage...from the street not very obvious…remember it accepts cash only.

This spot is a counter like a bar with some outside seating also….inside is small…10-12 seats….decor is nothing special but the ambiance is relaxed and low key. The complimentary lentil soup welcomes every guest before order is taken….made of seasoned lentils with good flavour…be prepared for some potentially loud tunes coming from the bar….the menu is a nice blend of traditional Lebanese and Greek food at reasonable prices.

Our order:
Chicken Shawarma Wrap (Chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, garlic or yogurt)--$8.99…very tasty; Falafel Wrap (vegetarian-Falafel, tomatoes, parsley, lettuce & tahini sauce also got a side of onion rings)-$ 8.99…very delicious; Dolmas (3 Pieces) $3.99…overall excellent; Falafel was probably my favorite item…was crispy & authentic tasting! Everything tasted fresh like homemade! The portion sizes here are decent! The Dolmas were lovely & served with a pinch of red seasoning…it was a great additive of flavor!
Surprise item Baklava - The amazing lady server served us a piece of Baklava each….so good…it was simply delicious….we had to order extra helping....really good baklava.

Service is good…since we are seated around the counter so they are pretty quick!

Thanks for a delicious Mediterranean meal…great value for money.

I visited wally cafe back in June 2016! What a little gem hiding behind the main San Pablo Avenue in Emeryville. We were on our way to Ikea, and stopped here for lunch! I need to go back for some delicious middle eastern food!!!

Staff was friendly and warm. We sat at the bar and got served soup of the day on the house :) between the two of us we shared a meat wrap, hummus plate and a lovely salad. Everything was fresh, good quality and made with love. At the end, they served us a complimentary baklava. Now, whomever knows me, know I go mad for Baklava! Albania was under the Turkish influence for almost 500 years so Baklava is very much part of Albanian tradition especially around Christmas and New Years! I need to go back to Wally's for another great meal!

Oh my what a surprise. This restaurant is so off the beaten path and unexpected. We had trouble finding it, but luckily for us there were two women crossing get the street that knew right where it was. The restaurant is in the back of a bar, but has it's own entrance. The restaurant has a large counter seating. You can sit in the bar, which has great character. I ordered lamb sigh kabobs...Fabulous! The salad was so tasty with a light and flavorful dressing. Now the rice was the most tasty. We were given a cup of lentil soup and baklava dessert, both unexpected treats! Love this place

This place serves wonderful, home-cooked Mediterranean food. The baba ganoush is smokey eggplant perfection. The kebabs are juicy and plentiful. The falafel is light & fluffy. Best of all, every entree comes with the best lentil soup I ever had (no kidding, I have to find out how they build the flavor) and baklava!

Really, if you were walking up the street, odds are that you'd pass by without noticing it there unless you have a good sense of smell. There are two entrances to Wally's Cafe, and neither grab your attention. Best option is to go into and though a dive bar called "Bank Club" (I believe). At the very back of the bar, in its own distinct area you have stumbled into the best Lebanese food in the East Bay. Seating is limited to bar stools around the counter where you are just a few feet away from watching your food being prepared in the open kitcken, outside in a small patio with several small covered tables, or you can bring the food back into the bar area and tuck into a dark corner and grab some beer/booze to go with the food.
I've been here several times over the past few years - everything fantastic, and usually too much for me to finish in one sitting. Favorites of mine are Gyro wrap with onion rings for lunch, Pomegranate Chicken plate for dinner. An extra touch puts Wally's over the top, two touches really...while waiting for your order, you are served a bowl of lentil soup - perfect on a chilled day or evening. And at the end of your meal, you get a complimentary piece of baklava with your check. Lunch for around $12-15, dinner under $20, and you'll probably have some to take with you. Great place to come with 3-4 people and share 2-3 plates and a couple sides.
Highly recommended if you ever find yourself in North Oakland or South Berkeley. Parking can be an issue however, and it's easier to look for the Bank Club bar and walk straight through to the very back for Wally's.
