This cook-your-own Japanese BBQ is excellent. There is a large variety of meats to choose from. They also have some vegetarian options. Their happy hour prices make it a good value, and the hours are very generous.

We came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon and ordered from their happy hour prices. Ten dishes including beef, chicken, shrimp with sides of garlic noodles and spicy cabbage came out to about 50 bucks with tea. The three sauces were on the sweet side but complemented the grilled meats pretty good. Service was friendly but we had to ask twice for our teas to be refilled. Make reservations to be sure you get your table as it was pretty crowded even at 3:30. The shout chicken, chuck kalbi beef, and prime steak were the best.

Thank ECL

Arrived like an hour for our reservation, and we were accommodated after just a moment's notice. Vanessa, the manager served us, she was very friendly and attentive. Food started to arrive quite quickly, we had ordered a mix of food. We asked for split checks and that was not a problem at all.

I had ordered the Garlic Beef Noodles, served in a hot bowl and so deliciously tasty. The view of meats barbecuing and the smells were intoxicating. Have a look at the pictures, worth a visit, spend time with family and friends.

We have dined in Gyu-kaku in Cupertino, Chicago and Hong Kong. All three are excellent. Despite traffic in South Bay, we still come here for odd-hour lunch or early dinner, before the crowds. Happy Hours are a must to get favorable prices. All the beef cuts are great, including our favorite beef tongue. No pork belly though. Service is good and the grill is changed a couple of times or if you ask. The place is clean and very popular with the young generation.

My spouse and I were invited by another couple to try this restaurant. You will need a reservation and with that said we waited 15 minutes for a table to be cleared. The booths were a bit small for our group of four. There is a gas powered grill in the middle of the table and you will need to cook your items.

We ordered the Meat Lovers meal for four. This included rice (small portion for 2), edamame (smaller portion for two), miso soup (which our server forgot to bring out earlier in the course) Gyu-Kaku (plain garden salad), fried chicken Karaage, garlic shrimp (very good), but the New York Steak Miso and the Bistro Hanger Steak Miso were excellent choices and I would recommend ordering more if you're a meat lover!

Service was okay, but we did visit on a Saturday. I would return again and recommend this restaurant.
