We stayed there only one night, on our way down to Koh Chang. Not a cheap hotel according to Thai standards, but worth every bath. If you want to be pampered for a day or two - the Rayong Marriott Resort & Spa is the place.

We so enjoyed our family getaway to the Marriott in Rayong. It is a beautiful property, with an absolutely amazing infinity pool - possibly the largest / longest I've ever seen. Actually there are two pools, with the other being in front of what seems to be a nicely organized kid's club (didn't use). Breakfast buffet is incredible (see photos), and the rooms are wonderfully appointed with a unique bathroom layout, and wonderful bay window sitting area (can also be used for extra bed, with charge - see below!). Even the "mountain-view" rooms have a view of the ocean (at least on mid-upper floors - see photo). Staff are friendly and helpful, a lovely little coffee shop with good daily deals on delicious, generously portioned sandwiches, cakes and pizza. The beach is quite clean, with treacherous (but very scenic) rocks at the far left side, but then a very long, wide, rock free beach stretching as far as the eye can see in the other direction, with a view of Koh Samet over the water in the distance. The water is remarkably clear - was not expecting that at this location.
We accessed the hotel from our home in Bangkok, by rented taxi door-to-door for 2700 baht each way (price might vary up to 3000, which is what the hotel will quote you). There is not much around the hotel in terms of shops, but if you do wander out of the hotel and a few hundred metres up the road to the right, you will find a couple of small shops selling soft drinks and beer (and some local snacks), to save money on typically high drink prices at the hotel. And if you have a car, then a short drive will get you to all sorts of tasty seaside seafood shacks.
So, in summary we love the place. BUT I have one significant complaint that keeps me from giving the highest rating:
--> the extra person charge levied for our 14 year old son was not just high, but EXTORTIONATE! We do expect to pay something for the extra bed/breakfast, given that he no longer qualifies as a child. At a beach hotel in Thailand, 600 baht would be common, 800 or even 1000 would be defensible. But the Marriott charges 1900 baht (approx US$55) per night. This gets you the breakfast (otherwise only 550 baht!), plus a made up extra bed, or in our case a made up bay window seating area. This costs is absolutely indefensible Marriott - you should be ashamed, and it besmirches an otherwise flawless level of service and facilities. Just to drive home the point even further, the otherwise similar Novotel Resort just down the road (the only other major hotel chain in the area) has children 16 and under staying for FREE.
Change this egregious policy Marriott, and you will be a near perfect family getaway destination for Bangkokians.

Use to stay here many times and I always book when there have a promotion as quite closed to my home.
Hotel has just launched Flash Rate Promotion yesterday so I made a booking
after that I just found out that room rate in Agoda.com is cheaper so a bit disappoint.
This morning, I call to hotel and asking for this issue, reservation said there have different channels and different room rate.
I asked that can I change to sea view type and pay a different rate as Agoda show
She said she have no authorized to do that soooo...... (I think that she can do better than that)
I recommend that if you launch a promotion, you should do at least same rate for all channels.
this silly issue can make guest do not want to go back to your hotel also reservation staff can ask supervisor to solve out this problem (I do not ask for cancellation, I ask to pay more for other room type as agoda price)
but if you think this issue is not matter I hope you go well for your business.

Staff are very attentive, the rooms offer incredible views. The rooms are spotless, the pools and surrounding area are spotless, the kids club, infinity pool and beach are perfect. This place is a gem and really worth the money and time to get there for a 5 star relaxing break. Breakfast buffet is a feast, plenty of food all the time. Restaurants are a bit expensive, but the Fish Bar surpasses all expectations. The team go the extra mile to add the personal touch and are a credit to the Hotel, I recommend the Seafood Grill, absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. They have a cocktail happy hour between 5 and 6, could do with extending it though! sipping cocktails on the beach or in the pool, watching the sunset is my idea of a holiday.
Security is excellent, the staff are "child friendly" and never ask for tips, and are always happy to help. This is an excellent hotel with excellent staff, high standards and although it is out of the way, if ever you feel the need to be "pampered" or relax, this is the place to do it.

ผมเลือกพักที่นี้ 1 คืน เพราะต้องการไปฉลองวันเกิดให้แฟน ซึ่งแฟนผมเองก็ไม่รู้เลยว่าผมจองโรงแรมไว้ บอกเพียงแต่ว่าจะพาไปเที่ยว กินข้าวแล้วก็กลับเพราะเราอยู่ที่ระยองกันอยู่แล้วจึงสามารถไปที่นี่เพียงไม่ถึงชั่วโมง ก่อนวันที่เราจะเข้าพักได้โทรหาทางโรงแรม ขอคำปรึกษาอยากจะSuprise งานวันเกิดแฟน แต่ผมมีงบค่อนข้างจำกัด จึงได้ทำการปรึกษากับคุณขวัญ Reception ของโรงแรมซึ่งให้คำปรึกษาและช่วยเหลือผมได้เป็นอย่างดีเยี่ยม.. ประทับใจมากตั้งแต่ยังไม่ได้เข้าพักเลย วันที่จะเข้าพักคุณขวัญยังโทรมาแจ้งด้วยว่า ทุกอย่างทางโรงจัดไว้ให้เรียบร้อยแล้วสามารถเช็คอินเข้าพักได้เลย..พอเข้ามาถึงโรงแรมผมเลยบอกแฟนผมว่า suprise ผมแอบจองห้องพักที่นี้ไว้เพื่อมาฉลองวันเกิด ซึ่งแฟนผมก็งง แต่suprise มันยังไม่จบครับ เช็คอินเสร็จก็ถึงเวลาเข้าห้องพัก เปิดประตูเข้าไปแฟนผมตะลึงเลยครับ เตียงถูก set แบบ Honey moon set โรยกลีบดอกกุหลาบเป็ยรูปหัวใจ (ตามรูป) ในอ่างอาบน้ำก็โรยกลีบดอกกุหลาบ กระจกหน้าห้อง ก็ติดคำว่า HBD ไว้ เดินไปบนโต๊ะ มีCake วางอยู่บนต้นข้างมีช่อดอกกุหลาบแดงวางอยู่บนโต๊ะ แฟนผมเห็นเท่านั้นแหละ ถึงกับปล่อยโฮเลย..ขอบคุณทางโรงแรมเป็นอย่างมาก ทีทำให้วันพิเศษของเรา พิเศษมากไปกว่าเดิม กล่าวเรื่องส่วนตัวมาเยอะแหละมารีวิวโรงแรมกันบ้าง โรงแรมอยู่ติดทะเล สระว่ายน้ำหลัก สระใหญ่และกว้าง สวยมากๆ ยางไปถึงฟน้าหาด ชอบมาก นอกจากนี้ยังมีอีกสระที่ติดกับฝั่ง Fish bar ซึ่งพวกเราลงเล่นทั้งสองสระ ชอบมากๆ บรรยากาศดีสุดๆ ในส่วนของเรื่องห้องพักไม่ต้องกล่าวมากมาย มาตรฐาน 5 ดาวอยูาแล้ว อาหารที่ Fish Bar ก็อร่อยมาก แต่อาหารช่วงเย็นเมนูเลือกมีให้เลือกน้อยไปหน่อย ถ้ามีโอกาสลองไปพักกันดูนะ

Nice location if you want peace and tranquillity. Neat and clean rooms. Nice outdoor swimming pools. Courteous staff. Superb breakfast. It is right on the beach. only draw back is not much to do. About two and a half hours from Swarnbhum Airport near Pattaya (one hour drive)
