Came here for my good friends wedding, with approximately 100 other guests.

They did very well to accommodate the number of people and service / food was good throughout the night.

It's a very pretty setting, with a strong English feel to it.

If you are around the area, why not bob in?

It has been years since we have been here - my wife and I both went here for our 21st birthdays - now we went for our 46th anniversary. It is amazingly unchanged inside and the outside was now enclosed, with a separate area for private parties (there was a wedding reception going on - as it was 'separated' by glass windows/doors, we could watch, but it wasn't a distraction.
Food was excellent (as it always has been) and the waiter was very good (even brought extra creamed corn).
The only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 was the bar area - it wasn't busy, but it still took 1/2 hour for us to get drinks.

I was brought to the Five Crowns for Mother's Day. Our family has always loved this restaurant, but after the initial remodel years ago, I felt they had gotten away in some aspects, from what made this restaurant spectacular. The trifle pudding wasn't as good after the remodel, but it is BACK NOW!!  The food for Mother's Day (special menu) was simply delicious and the service was excellent. We had the Icelandic Salmon, with mashed potatoes and spinach (truly could NOT have been better) and the Mushroom Artichoke Risotto. We also had Lobster Bisque, a Cauliflower appetizer, and the Avocado-Crab Mash that came with homemade warm pita chips covered with sesame seeds. That was insanely good and since it was the first course, I have to repeat the adage "hunger is the very best seasoning"!  The rolls were hot out of the oven and extraordinary.  We were so content after dinner, we went for a long walk in the neighborhood and returned an hour later for their Olde English Trifle Pudding.

I also love the new paint job on the outside of the building, along with the antique phone booth and red mail box they've kept. And the flowers!  Foxglove & alyssum, amidst a profusion of  other flowers lining the brick pathway.  So, so British!  They have retained much of the artwork (engravings, colored plates and oils) from before the renovation. The new tile floors are lovely and the ambience in the main dining room could not be any better. The entire experience spoke to my family heritage and what I remember from earliest childhood. We will definitely be returning very soon to do this all again.  Bravo, Five Crowns!  You are a gift to the community.

This restaurant has really good prime rib. It is owned by Lawry's and we have to go every year at least once because my Swiss friend, who comes from Zurich each year, loves it. If you go near Christmas time they have costumed singers that come around to your table and can sing almost anything you request. It is very festive and the food is wonderful.
