We stayed here in a group of 26 senior citizens with two tour managers for two nights. Some rooms are on river front connected with the reception with metalled road & other are Deluxe cottages spread in sprawling lawn & connected with poor lit katcha path at night. Cottages are quite spacious with separate sitting area one step down with TV & tea maker. The Restaurant is on IST floor above Bar & lounge which serves good Indian dishes . An excellent SPA with facilities for different types of massages & Sauna . WiFi signal was very poor in rooms & with very slow speed which needs to be improved. The wooden floor in cottages causes lot of noise when you move over it & quite disturbing. Location is right on Paro river, about 20 minutes drive from International Airport Paro & 10 minutes from main market. Our tour manager arranged a culture program in the evening with Bhutan folk dances which was wonderful & enjoyed by all group members.

The term resort should not be associated with this hotel. The main building is OK, and the bar is spacious. WiFi is mostly absent, cleanliness is sub par, and the food a bit below average. Being with friends in a group, I can tell you that the rooms in the main Lodge are a bit better than the quads (rooms 100's-300's) which are a great distance from the lobby, and poorly lit at night. Laundry was totally messed up, with people getting others clothes, some missing. Be careful of charging drinks to your room, as a glass of wine and 2 beers cost $25.00 and they do not accept credit cards. They do admit to adding on 20 percent on top of the charge to anything you purchase. The staff was not particularly friendly. Bottom line - I wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed at this resort twice on our trip.
First stay was in a four room complex on the far side of the river. There were stairs up to the rooms and a common foyer. Phone did not work and they could not fix it. Toilet did not work and this was fixed promptly by maintenance. Toilet was dirty and this was cleaned promptly. There was a wide paved path to access this area.
Second stay was in cabana which housed two rooms both on ground floor. Locatiion was closer to main lodge and restaurant and room was much nicer. There was a sitting room with a TV....down one step so be careful. This area was much nicer and rooms were bigger. Recommend asking for this location. Rooms each had a table and 2 chairs out front where you could sit and relax.
There were dogs around and about and some barking at night that could disturb your sleep.
Remember to hit the toggle switch for the switch in the bathroom or your battery will not be charged.
A bathub with a shower in a fairly large bathroom.
A pleasant resort.

Situated on the banks of Paro river or Pachu, it is surrounded by the mountains. A very rejuvenating retreat after day long sightseeing. We checked in soon after trekking the Taktsang Monastery and fell in love with the resort. Staff is very friendly and rooms are spacious but for foodies it is a disappointment. No Bhutanese cuisine is served here.

Room tip: Do not choose river view rooms. These are actually cluster of room with a common lounge facing the river.

We (group of 3 couples) landed at Paro on 18th Oct. 2017 on our 7 day trip to Bhutan. Unlike usual itinerary for all visitors to Bhutan who have their last destination as Paro, our was a reverse route being first destination at Paro followed by Punakha and Thimpu.
We reached Kichu Resort at Paro in the morning around 9 AM driving straight from Paro Airport observing Nature's beauty on our way.
Our travel plan included 3 nights stay at this resort. As we entered the resort campus, we noticed beautiful Paro river flowing adjacent to the resort and we were really excited.
As we got down of our vehicle, we were very warmly welcomed by Front office staff who offered us much needed Indian Tea (we spent most part of previous night on flight and then at Kolkata Airport) which was very perfect in taste. We were early for the normal check-in hours however house keeping staff did their job very efficiently and provided us proper cottages within an hour or so.
During this time when we were having tea, Mr. Subba of the resort interacted with us. We had planned to visit places in Bhutan largely on our own which we shared with him and requested for his suggestions. Initially he was reluctant may be considering that our driver may not like this however later he opened up and provided some very useful suggestions / tips to include (and also to exclude) few places especially in Punakha. He suggested us to include a hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten at Punakha which was a very worthy suggestion. We sincerely compliment him for this and all other guidance provided by him during our stay at Kichu Resort, Paro.
We were pleasantly surprised on the next day morning during breakfast when Mr. Sonam from Front Office approached us and informed us that we will be upgraded to the superior cottage for next two days. These cottages was of course larger with better amenities and that made our stay more happier.
Breakfast and dinner served at the resort restaurant was also very good in terms of taste and variety.
Coming back to the resort, the cottages were really very clean, with all necessary amenities provided there. Within resort there is very good garden, lawn, trees, plants and greenery and walk-way all around the resort. Resort is surrounded by Paro river and mountains - all these was very scenic. On the riverside within campus there are sit out facilities - benches, huts etc. There are steps through which we can touch and feel flow of the flowing water of the river. We experienced all these at different times of the day - early morning and also in the evening and really enjoyed a lot. In the evening we also observed birds flying near the banks of the river. The days we stayed at the resort were the days of festival of Diwali followed by Gujarati New Year and we felt that this time spent at the resort was God's blessings to us.
No wonder, why leading travel companies from India have selected this in their tour plan for their guests.
We sincerely compliment Mr. Subba, Mr. Sonam and all the members of resort team for making our stay pleasant and memorable.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience for us at Kichu Reort, Paro. We highly recommend all visitors to consider this at Paro.
