Took a small group to Hearst Castle, and decided to stay here for two nights. Rate charged not that cheap, but cheaper than best Western and others. Rooms quite mediocre...Old furniture (painted white) no air conditioning (if you want cool weather, open the window (if you can)Beds are good (comfortable) Old TV (needs new one)Place was very clean. Amazed at how large this resort has become. Hot complementary breakfast (excellent) Restaurant is very large (did not try it, but menu looked good)(prices average)Good car parking. Front desk was good. Entertainment available several nights a week. Lots of variations in price on rooms. About 10 miles from Hearst Castle. Beach areas, nearby, also wineries.
