We spent two nights at this charming hotel nestled against the estuary at Moonstone Beach. The rooms are south facing with lots of light and the furnishings are artfully tasteful. I am a designer so ambience is key, and El Colibri was beyond my expectations, with reasonable rates, warm staff, and impeccable service. The Hearst Ranch is gorgeous and the Elephant Seals were teaming along the rugged coast. I highly recommend this place for a coastal getaway.

Wow! This place is a good definition of short and sweet. Although small it has all the right amenities. Our room had a sexy bathtub(with jets) , a fireplace by a window that sang ocean wave tunes, and a small bar in the lobby with some great local wines+(try Harmony chardonnay, for Oaky and Buttery taste). The location seemed remote, but you can actually walk to some delicious restaurants (Sea Chest! is a Must!) At El Colibri they have knowledgeable ladies and gent at the front that will be willing to inform you of all the delicious restaurants/spots if you ask. Go Watch the sunset in Moonstone Beach. The hotel has a wooden walkway in the back that leads you to the beach and Restaurants/nooks nearby. They have a shell gas station across the street and a small store with great alcohol selections. Hearst Castle is 5 minutes away or so and so is The Elephant seal and friends , you can watch the seals while visiting and or while riding Kayaks in San Simeon (Sea for yourself Kayak). I could probably go on. El Colibri is a Magical spot. Thank you Ladies and Gent for making this stay so memorable. I hope to See you soon

This was a great place. We literally enjoyed everything. The room was very comfortable and the massage experience was incredible. People are all very nice and attentive without being intrusive on our privacy

The spa was great! .. but the hotel was worn, outdated, average cleanliness ... thus very over priced. There was wear and tear everywhere, the fireplace (extra cost) barely worked. Cleanliness only on the level of Comfort Inn. Staff was pleasant, but nothing extra (didn't even inquire about satisfaction ... ALWAYS a Tell). Was next to a major highway, so had to close open windows for quiet, thus lost the ambiance of the greenspace, water sound from the beach. Hampton Inn in same location, at 60% of the cost was have been about right. Disappointing. Keep looking.

So thrilled you enjoyed your massage services! They are supremely talented::)

Our team greatly appreciates your stay and our pleasant comments on our service team.

Our aim is perfection and we work so diligently towards an amazing stay for you.

Please know that the hotel was just build in 2009 and we just a few months ago placed all new carpets in the guestrooms and refurbished the stunning Mediterranean furniture. There is no extra cost for the fireplace as every room offers one for your enjoyment:)

Thank you for your stay and I hope you enjoyed your Central Coast getaway!
Travel safe in 2018.

We were initially disappointed that El Calibri didn’t have ocean views and the steam shower was out of order, but ended up loving this spot. The rooms are new and modern, but still warm and cozy with a gas fireplace for the cool mornings and evenings. We rented bikes ($15 for 4 hours) to ride to Main Street for coffee and breakfast or to the beach for a walk. The staff, Cynthia and Kathy, were friendly and helpful. Thanks for the great stay!

Thank you so much for your delightful review and mention of service team names::) It is always a joy to know we made a difference caring for you as our guest.

Thrilled you truly enjoyed the nature ZEN feel of the surrounding conservation land, still just steps to two beachs- our location to our quaint Cambria downtown is second to none and glad you took advantage of riding to town.

We are by far the newest hotel in town and just completed lovely upgrades!!

Thanks again and come back soon!
