We were welcomed by a friendly staff person as soon as we entered the building. We enjoyed hearing about the history of the winery presented by a knowledgeable staff person in the entrance area. Off we went into the caves.
They were bottling while we were there so there was some activity and noise in the background. On our tour we didn't see the bottling area or any real part of the process other than where the wines are stored. She does a great job of talking you through the process but we didn't actually see any real work talking place. If you are looking for a tour that shows the operation of the winery you should check with them before booking the tour to see if the tour is more than just the caves.
The tasting room is well appointed, comfortable and pleasant and the selection of wines you get to sample is very good. Our tour guide was friendly and accommodating. At the end of the tasting I asked her if I could pay an additional fee to taste their Demi-sec bubbly. She said there would be no charge but she would have to check availability. Before leaving the tasting room she checked with everyone else and came back with a bottle for all of us to taste. I thought this was very good customer service. It sold us as we purchased a bottle of the demi-sec.
I love bubbly so this was the tour and tasting that I really enjoyed and highly recommend to those who want to taste some very good bubbly. What you do see, the information provided and the tasting are worth the price.
