We were heading to Santa Barbara on last minute business a few weeks ago. As is typically the case, SB hotels were expensive. We checked out the Anderson Inn and found it to be half the cost. But a far better value. The location is OK. Right off the 101. Mostly surrounded by strip malls but only a short drive to Solvang and Los Olivos. The room was nice sized and super clean. We were impressed, given the relatively low cost. Our first floor unit opened up to the pool. Nothing fancy at all mind you, but again convenient and very well maintained. The included continental breakfast was minimal, but all fresh and well presented. The only disappointment was the desk staff. Curt, and dare I say irritable, at check-in and out, but efficient. This isn’t Bacara after all. This is a decent hotel at a decent price and well worth your consideration.

Room Tip: Inside may be loud in the summer

Thank you for the pleasant review. We believe our guests have extreme value when you stay with us. Our prices are fairly low but we believe you gain a ton of value with our clean and spacious rooms. I apologize about our staff; usually they are exceptional. Thank you again.

Traveling the I5 corridor of CA lacks much culinary wonderment. It was getting late, we had a hungry family who is not prone to eat fast food so when we came across Pea Soup Anderson’s and opted to give it a shot. The place was busy and pleasant. We took the plunge and had dinner. With a couple of the family needing gluten free we had some limitations, namely to salad and soup. The overpriced pea purée soup was okay, but bland and overly smooth. The Cobb salad was mediocre with iceberg lettuce and salad dressings that are lacking ( the Italian is the terrible bland gooey sort that is reminiscent of nasal discharge). Service was okay. All in all $8 for a bowl of pea slop and another $5 for a shake seems excessive. Pretty sure my kids will never eat pea soup again. Plus side, we kicked off spring break with what will probably be one of the most memorable meals ( not in a good way). On the other hand, it was busy and many seemed blissed out with their trough of soup and followed it with a massive plate of fried chicken. Heads up to parents of littles, the chicken nuggets are smiley shaped - nothing like massively processed happy chicken morsels.

We needed a place to stay on our drive up north. The room was clean and the check in was easy. At $80 per night, it would be hard to find a similiar option that is close to the freeway and their restaurant is right next door.

We stayed over a Saturday night, then spent 2 nights in Santa Barbara. For the price it's a good place to stay. Pro: The price, the room and bathroom are clean. Bed is comfortable, water pressure is good. There is small microwave and small refrigerator in the room. Our room was on the 2nd floor (no elevator) Cons: I could hear the people talking and the crying baby next door. So-so: the breakfast room had oj, cranberry juice, coffee and tea. Also, there was bread, and Danish pastries. The breakfast room was in a gazebo near the pool (note that there is a big step to get into the gazebo.)
Staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful.

Rooms were comfortable with mini fridge and microwave, free wifi and free parking. Very nice Continental breakfast (Free) in the Lobby was tasty. Staff was helpful and hotel location was excellent for visiting Solvang and Buelton.

Rated 5 stars for service, rooms and cleanliness but this site would not let me add ratings for them.

Room Tip: Big Rigs started arriving late at night and woke one person in our party. Recommend ear plugs for light sleepers.
