We had tried unsuccessfully to eat at The Village Fish & Chips, as their somewhat odd hours had seen this restaurant closed when we have tried before. Housed in an old house just off the main street of Waterdown, it has a bit of history in this town! The couple who (owns and) runs the shop are very nice, welcoming us as their only customers mid afternoon on a Saturday. Another couple came in after us. We ordered the haddock and chips and were quite disappointed with the taste. The fish, batter and french fries were bland and flavourless. I so wanted to love this place, but sadly, I did not.
