We stayed at the Algonquin Moose Lodge in May 2017.
The place is absolutely amazing.
The beds are the most comfortable I've ever slept in and I've been in hotels and bnb's everywhere. It was so nice after a day hiking to go back there and get into bed with the pillows and beautiful blankets.
We had the fireplace going non stop the whole time we were there - not because it was cools - we had to open the windows - but because it was just so nice to hear the crackle of the fire.
The kitchen is fully equipped and barb was gracious enough to leave some basic supplies for us (condiments etc)so that we only had to buy our actual food.
We hiked the property - there's a beautiful trail around the lake. We had to walk across a beaver dam. We saw a snake! We saw moose tracks. We didn't see a moose but our host Barb told us in the summer they come to the lake to eat the water lilies.
We barbecued on the deck and had fires in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows.
There are lots of books and games and a pool table for kids (of all ages) and plenty of room. A great place for a number of couples - there could be three or four separate couples and they still wouldn't be in each other's space there.
Overall, a tremendous experience. I couldn't imagine a nicer place to spend a weekend. I'd like to stay a week next time so that I could access Algonquin Park which is 5 minutes up the road.
