“fantastic" bolt hole"”
Reviewed 21 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

The was the perfect retreat for peace and quiet. Well equipped with an easy to light log burner with plenty of fuel stocked outside. The bedroom was fine for me to use, although I do envisage some people not enjoying the steep ladder.
the kitchen and bathroom are very good, and plenty of towels and tea towels are a great touch.
All in all I have no complaints at all and really enjoyed my stay at a place with a restful feel.

“A great little rental in a lovely place.”
Reviewed 15 December 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We stayed here at the end of October for a few nights. Fantastic location, really good clean accomodation with all the facilities you could need. Excellent friendly and very helpful landlord. The bedroom has interesting access but it was great and very cosy. For the less adventurous there is a sofa bed downstairs. Kitchen, Bathroom and Lounge are very spacious. Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere but with the convenience of being close to Patterdale and Glenridding.

A great rental and would happily recommend.

“Absolutely lovely”
Reviewed 26 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

The dairy is such a quirky little place to stay! We loved it, the staff were very helpful from start to finish and always quick to respond to any emails I sent before we arrived. The dairy itself was amazing, it was very clean and had everything you needed for cooking etc. It was warm and cosy and we even had milk in the fridge for when we arrived. The grounds were beautiful and the dairy really felt private away from the rest of the main hotel. 10 minute stroll to Glenridding and the lake with some quality little pubs. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

“Quirky highly individual cottage for two”
Reviewed 12 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This small building is located in woodland, about 10 minutes from the lake, and the same distance from the villages of Glenridding and Patterdale, with their pubs, cafes, and shops (and the steamer pier). The living room is a reasonable size, and both kitchen and bathroom are small but perfectly manageable. We got used to the scramble up the ladder to the rather snug double bedroom. It is in a small garden, containing a picnic table and two deck chairs. So it has nearly all the ingredients for a pleasant stay of a week or so. The downsides are the lack of views, and more significantly perhaps, the lack of mobile phone signal (shared with all the southern part of Ullswater).

Glad you had a good stay. A good mobile signal is available on the Vodafone network. With the discreet private wooded location, comes unfortunately a lack of long distance view. You don't have to go far for one though. Do come back again soon.

“Cosy base amongst the trees from which to explore the fells”
Reviewed 11 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Thanks to house-keeper Jane for letting us raid the Hall bookcase, and to Sean for the lend of some of his own books. Unfortunately, the weather was too good to read very much, so we were out walking every day. No need to spend time shopping with the local milk-lady, Mary Lightfoot from Gillside Farm, delivering milk, cream, yoghurt and orange juice daily, and the local Sainsbury's delivering the week's groceries promptly at the start. The sofa bed was a little lumpy but the double bed mattress unzipped in two, to make comfortable separate beds, one up, one down for the one that couldn't negotiate the ladder into the cosy loft bedroom. The owl was heard and the deer spotted again. Lovely lighting amongst the trees.
