We have just come back form a week's stay in this gem of a hotel. What a find ! It is has 13 rooms set in what was once the owner's beautiful family home and and amazing gardens. Set against a background of the Tramuntana Mountains this blissfully peaceful hotel enjoys a wonderful setting. It is a ten minute walk from Soller and a short cab ride from Port Soller. The hotel staff admirably, led by Dorothy are absolutely delightful and very efficient. I have travelled widely all over the world and I don't think I have been anywhere that is more beautiful than Son Grec .

Pity such a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting is so set in its ways
Too many cameras on the grounds watching your every move , did not feel at all relaxing when you know you are being watched
Staff excellent, but really the atmosphere is very controlling

Dear Marea S,

We don't really understand what's exactly the matter of having cameras in the common areas as we do, like all other hotels, restaurants or regular public business in the world... We don't get what kind of “control" is implicit on that...

Anyway, we can only say here that we do just take a very personal (and personalized) care of all our guests since we consider them part of the family, as is this our family house, and a family-run business. And we preserve their privacy and their intimacy, since this is a calmed Petit Resort where the silence and the relax is the main goal. We are a big property for a reduced number of people. That's why we have a high level of loyalty and a huge number of repeaters which is increasing season after season. People who understand and value this philosophy.

If you just take a quick look at other previous reviews, you may understand what we do mean.

We do really appreciate to have the honor of becoming the first hotel receiving a review of yours on TripAdvisor. We encourage you to keep writing more reviews about your previous and next experiences in hotels and restaurant from now on. Otherwise we'll be the ones feeling controlled...

Best regards from Sóller (in the Heart of the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mallorca),

Dorti and José

Just returned from a 6 night stay at Son Grec and already planning to return. I can’t speak highly enough about this hotel. Everything was spot on. We stayed in room no. 6 which was on the top floor of the main building and afforded views that were outstanding. Very comfortable to say the least but the staff really made the difference between good and great particularly Gunta and Steffi. Nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile. Breakfast was excellent every morning and the evening meals were fabulous. The tapas and paella evenings showcased the local cuisine perfectly. Not too far from the local restaurants and shops but far enough away to be quiet during the day and evenings.

Dear JTS147,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your experience during your stay at SON GREC Petit Resort.

It was a pleasure hosting you and sharing the local flavors of Sóller, Mallorca and Spain in our House, your House from now on.

From here, in this family-run business of ours, we've been trying to choose carefully all the members of our staff. People from all over the world who perfectly understand the nuances of this Island, of this culture of this beautiful town called Sóller and of our family philosophy. All in all to provide you a local experience with local personality and a global vision (think globally, act locally).

We feel extremely glad when we see through experiences and reviews like yours how they are not only an essential addition to our concepts, but actually an essential part (literally) of the family. With attention to every single small detail and keeping the eye on the most important one: Being themselves, without corporative smiles and with a lot of passion on what they do. We just try to provide a service from humans to humans. It's always rewarding to see that we are getting closer to our daily mission: Provide Happiness to our visitors.

On behalf of the whole team at SON GREC, we just want to say: Thank you very much for your visit. We all hope to have you back soon.

Best regards from Sóller,

Dorti & José

This hotel is lovely, small but perfectly formed. Great food, great staff, although some rooms are better than others so study the choices carefully. It sits in nice peaceful grounds and is only a short walk to the old town (or a 10 minute cab ride to the marina). There is a mix of nationalities and ages, from 30-70s approx, I would guess unless you unlucky with some noisy guests, you would have nothing to complain about staying here and we would definitely consider returning one day. The food on offer in both the old town and the port is excellent and varied, much better than in Pollensa for example.

Dear TomDuck,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us at SON GREC.

We really appreciate your words, especially coming from someone with your experience and knowledge of Mallorca. We understand that, when you know this beautiful Island in-depth, you value even more the details we share of our local personality with an International and Contemporary touch.

That's our main source at SON GREC: Our Identity. From Mallorca to the world. From a XVIII Century House renewed and turned from our family house into a Petit Resort. And everything in a place where we preserve and value the most Silence, Privacy, Intimacy and Peace. Everyone is welcome. Through our many different services, we just propose to our guests a simple thing: Disconnect from their lives for a while to reconnect with themselves forever.

We are glad to see that was your case.

We are all looking forward to welcoming you shortly.

Kindest Regards to your wife and you from your beloved Island,

Dorti & José

Bit slow to get round to reviewing this but also don't want too many people to know about it! Son Grec is a really special place - some of the best staff I've ever encountered and a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere where you feel truly relaxed and cared for. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate. And it is a great location for strolling into the centre of Soller and an easy/cheap taxi ride to the Port.

Dear HappyTraveller5577,

Thank you very much for sharing your experience at SON GREC and let the world know about us.

We have to thank you as well for your words about our staff, our atmosphere of peace, about our gardens and grounds.

We work very hard to share the beautiful legacy of this very special UNESCO World Heritage Area of the Island. Through our preserved, unspoilt and carefully protected Nature. And also through our History into our house and property, originally form the XVIII Century so you can enjoy many details from the past with the comfort, technology and amenities of the XXI Century.

We hope to have back soon and keep sharing with you a Human Service for Humans.

Best regards,

Dorti & José
