“This is a nice place that we really can recommend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 February 2012

This is a nice place that we really can recommend. Located outside of the city, on the edge of the desert, it is very peaceful and quiet. The staff was very service minded and friendly. The rooms were good, but it can get a bit chilly at night. Nothing a blanket, a heater and good company can't help.

We stayed one night in two tents. As it was winter, the tents were very cold, but we were able to use the bedding from the spare bed to keep warm, and slept well. The bathrooms were huge and everything seemed to work. The decor of the tents was sort of 'simulated rustic ethnic', if such a thing exists. It's a pleasant change from all the hotels that try to look as modern and Western as possible. This one was trying to look like it was a tent in Rajasthan, which indeed it was.

The place has lots of space in it, and there seemed to be several groups here who could meet without disturbing everyone else. One group had some sort of campfire in the middle of the lawn, and another sat on the verandah smoking from hookahs. This hotel would probably be great for groups in summer time, as they could utilise all the outside space for meeting, drinking, chatting, whatever. The hammock near the pool is very comfortable.

The food was OK, but nothing special. Since this place is in the middle of nowhere, there were no other options for food. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of dishes to choose from. One of us ordered from the menu and had her meal brought to the tent - this was convenient and there was no fuss. However, she found the biryani too spicy for her, despite specifically requesting that it not be made spicy. 'Spicy' is a variable description in India, of course.

In summary, clean and pleasant, but a bit too cold in winter, and a long way from anywhere.

Room Tip: Avoid the tents in winter.

Spent 1 night here on my way from Udaipur to Jaipur. I think I had a "deluxe" room, solid walls but canvass/tent like roof. As it was winter, I froze. They did bring a blow heater but it wasn't too effective. The bed was rock hard but it was warm. Friendly staff and food in the restaurant was nice but not too exciting.

Funnily enough, unlike other hotels in India in winter, at this one there was good hot water in the shower in the morning but I couldn't get cold water running!!

Only stayed for 1 night as stopover and the hotel seemed to be in the middle of nowhere but as my impression of Pushkar was very negative I wasn't disappointed about being out and away from the town.

This was quite a good hotel. The hotel is built like a fort and is quite huge. There is a combination of tents, cottages and permanent structures. Our tent was quite comfortable and is was very clean and beautiful. The room had a fridge too, and satellite tv - so that was good. Only problem was the food, not really good. But the service was excellent. Overall, its good value for money. We were a couple and this was an excellent place to relax.

This hotel was a very simple decision to go with. The hotel is mostly tents. So, its a very good ambiance given the sand dunes and 'holiness' in the air.

The hotel is very well spread out, with lots of open spaces and places to just relax and hang out. Away from the usual drama and hustle bustle of the city (well, pushkar doesnt really have the normal characteristics of an indian city). The rooms are nicely done up and clean. No probs there. Food was alright as well. It was a very relaxing trip. Thanks!
