A good hotel. The two brother owners of the hotel take good care of the guests. Roof top restaurant gives best view of pushkar. The potted plants all over give a soothing effect. Food is also good. However it is in the byelanes...however if it is a repeat visit to Pushkar at least one try for this hotel is must.

Room Tip: choose one facing the mountains

First, let's recall that "the innkeeper is the inn." And Bennie is the epitome of hospitality. He refused to charge us for bikes, though we borrowed them 5 times. We think the Kishan Palace may be the best hotel we've ever stayed at -- and we've been to the Crillon in Paris and the Cipriani in Venice. (OK, the Cipriani is tops.) The walls are painted -- throughout the stairs, the hallways, behind the beds and in front of them. The ceilings are high. The rooms are large and the doors are impressive, ancient looking and quite beautiful. Gardens hang throughout the establishment, drooping for 4 floors. The roof garden is Heaven. There are three circles bordered by padding and bolsters to lie and relax, at breakfast or for dinner. The food is as good as any we had in Pushkar.

Kishan Palace is a tiny bit out of town -- which is good, because you can get away from the chatter of the suq and the jangle of ceaseless devotions, though you can still hear drums and bells and distant chanting. it has a vista of fields and mountains, and it's 5 minutes walking to the center of town. No need for Tuk-Tuk or taxi for anything (and I had a recently broken foot).

You have to see this place to believe it! I mean it. This joint deserves 7 stars. And Bennie is simply great. The massages are masterful. The rooms are a joy. The food is great. The rooftop view is unforgettable. This place is tops!!

Oh yeah, and it's wildly affordable. "Reasonable" doesn't cover it. OK, so raves like this will shove the price up. Bennie has room to move, and still stay competitive. There simply is no place like it in Pushkar. Or in much of the rest of the world.

PS - Huge, super-clean bathrooms. Tons of hot water. Beautiful, golden lighting throughout -- none of that sorry greenish flourescent sheen. Bennie chose golden flourescents; good man.

Room Tip: 401 had an awesome view of hills and distant temple

The hotels owner 'Benny', is hands on aiming to provide the best stay possible. He is very friendly approachable and wanting to please. He has put his mark on the hotel with wonderful murals painted on all the inside walls. Our room was large and clean with large clean ensuite and wonderful hot shower. The hotel is in the traditional style with the rooms on the different floors being around the outside of the building encompassing a square open to the sky central courtyard. The dining area at the restaurant was on top of the hotel with options of being in a small round awninged 'turret' or larger square area, all open to the fresh air. He has further plans for his hotel including air conditioning units in the rooms. Town centre about 1km away around a 10-15 minute walk. Bicycles for hire. Pushkar is a no alcohol no meat town so obviously these were not on the menu

We stayed here as part of our tour with intrepid. It was such a little funky hotel with beautiful murals all over the walls. The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent! It has a lovely chilled out roof top terrace and we even got to watch a great bollywood film up there on the roof top. Overall it had a great ambience and I would certainly stay there again.
