Excellent breakfast. Free Wi-Fi in lobby. Clean, safe and friendly. Liked the costumed guys outside the entrance.

We were a group of 10 pepole including children, went there for New year eve 2012. It's nice and clean. The price is resonable and for the price it is pretty decent place. Rooms are big and clean. They have a good swimmingpool. It has beatiful dining area, where they serve vegetarian multi-cusine. Food is average but service is nice. In the evenings they have live traditional music and dance, which is brilliant. The place is far awaw from the maddenig crowd and is definately a nice experiance.

This hotel is just outside of the city center, so it's very quiet, but a bit dark at night if you walk back from the city center. There is no view at all from the rooms. You can walk easily from the hotel to the cenotaph, Unfortunately there is a very big wall that separate the hotel from the river, so if you walk along the river to the cenotaph, you have to do a big detour to reach the hotel ground. And the wall keep you away from all the view. We had a very beautiful room beautiful with marble floor and table, t the bed was very comfortable, plenty of hot water. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. There is also a safe-deposit box , a small refrigerator, television, you can have Wi Fi in the lobby. There is also a swimming pool. We pay half price through Lonely planet reservation, so iy was a really good deal.

We were 2 families that visited Orchha over the New year weekend in Dec 2011. we knew that this was not a top of the line luxury resort and hence had set our expectations accordingly. The prices offered were quite reasonable. The pickup car at the railway station arrived on time, so no problems there.

Reception is pretty simple and average, and was quite dark in there. Need to put in some more lights.

We checked in. The rooms were clean and airy. Decent beds. The resort is only single storeyed, so all rooms are on the ground floor. Our room window opened up to the swimming pool, which had a nice blue color.
The bed is not a double bed, but two single beds. even if you join them, there is a gap that feels uncomfortable. Orchha was very cold at that time of the year, but thankfully, all the rooms had heating and it was very warm and cosy inside the room. Plenty of sunlight also came in during the day.
The bathroom had a tub. Overall, it was relatively clean, though not sparkling. The best part was that there was plenty of hot water available from their central heating system. Had a nice hot bath everyday.

The worst part of the room was the tiny TV and that too of the extremely old type. Should have an LCD TV. The picture quality was poor. And the set was kept so low that one could not see it lying down on the bed.
The room had a tea and coffee maker.
The overall property is good. The pool looked nice and clean, but it was too cold to take a dip. Beyond the boundary of the resort, one could see the river. There are plenty of spaces to sit and relax outdoors and enjoy the sunshine.

Overall, the property is good for the price.

Coming to the negative points, the food was the low point. It was simply tasteless. Everything tasted bland. Service was slow and sometimes grumpy. Only one waiter was extremely good ( I dont remember his name) and we made it a point to use his services. He took care of us.
With the other waiters, you had to literally chase them to get something.
I would say that the taste and quality of food was below average, if not outright poor.

Overall, a decent place for a one time visit. Do try some river rafting and visit the fort and temple nearby. Take a walk across the bridge to the other side of the river, and into the forest.

Room Tip: Choose a pool facing room. The other rooms open out to a boundary wall and do not get sunlight.

The Orchha resort is an excelent place, with cosy and confortable rooms, clean and with a good view of the garden/pool. It is close to the river and to one of the interesting places to visit in the town, and with a short walk it is possible to reach the main palaces and temples.
The reastaurant has a choice of indian dishes and fresh vegetables and fruits, the staff is kind and helpful, speaks many languages.
The bathroom has the bathtub.
