I don't know about the rooms in this hotel as we did not stay there but the restaurant was in very poor condition. Following are the few points which bothered us most:

1. Pathetic service: We were sitting idle for almost 10 min. as they had only 1 menu card and we had to wait for others to order first so that it can come to us once they are done. Waiters were also not interested in taking orders.

2. Food Quality: It was average not really great. In the middle of the hot sunny day they even can't afford to keep a cold water bottle.

3. Food Variety: Very limited.

4. Ambience: Very bad. No AC,only 4 fans that too working occasionally.

With such a great location i think government should maintain this hotel. But because of their negligence it's becoming miserably bad.

This hotel is situated in Hampi within easy rickshaw ride to all the temples. Although a bit run down it does benefit from having a lovely garden to sit in when you need a respite from temples.
The place was quiet (January) and the staff very friendly. Overall we had an enjoyable and inexpensive stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: Don't go for anything less than luxury ac.

Although very basic, this government hotel is one of the few options to stay directly in Hampi, as opposed to Hospet that has many more hotels but is 13 kms away from Hampi. For two adults and a 10-year old kid, we payed a bit more than 4.000 INR per night for a comfortable 'suite'. As there is nothing much around the hotel, we also had our dinner there. Both, breakfast and dinner are Indian style, very simple and very cheap but delicious. The service is a bit slow but not unfriendly. Kingfisher beer is about the only alcoholic drink served. No access to Internet. In the mornings, you can easily catch a rickshaw in front of the hotel to show you around.

let me give you my experience

Arrive for breakfast 9.30am
Told that only overpriced scramble eggs available
Wait 20 min
food arrives - Arrive 50% water/50% egg with 2 slices VERY cold toast - no butter
Tea was Cold
No cutlery offer

Staff are a joke - its like they enjoy giving no service

I notice after my food arrives the next table kick up a fuss and then they are offereds offered Indian or Western Breakfast with multiple choice.

I get Bill - & they dont have change - so I now start to get angry and he magically find change.

Toilets were seriously the worst in 3 weeks travelling in 2 star hotels in india - no toilet paper/no soap/water flooded all over the floor /revolting and unclean. 100% cleaner at bus stations

Mayura Bhuvaneshwari is a good option for staying in Hampi. Rooms were a bit small but otherwise OK. Hotel itself is located in a sprawling campus with large lawns but is a bit far off from town for which you have to depend on the hotel's in house restaurant. However, beware that the restaurant services are extremely slow and erratic and were limited to serving a buffet breakfast, buffet lunch and dinner at fixed timings during the day. For the rest of the time, the staff including the reception people just disappeared. Also being out of the way, autos and taxis are not available easily and you would have to make arrangements beforehand or you could be left stranded.
