The Kashmir House is a grand old heritage building located in a quiet cul de sac just off the very steep road going to McLeod Ganj.
The ceiling of our room was higher than that of two average Mumbai flats! Not surprisingly the rooms are large, and a pleasant feature was the retention of the original, now antique furniture.
Service was efficient, warm and courteous as in all the HPTDC hotels we have stayed at except for The Manimahesh. We ordered room service, once standard north Indian and once Chinese. Both meals were tasty and served piping hot.
The property has a nice lawn, adequate parking and facilities for drivers. Dharamsala's Kotwali Bazaar is a short walk downhill. It is a good place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle and just a short drive away from McLeod Ganj.
