We've always been travellers, never the tourists. And it's always been the quiet, overwhelming beauty of the mountains that has drawn us. Prakriti Aalay hits the sweet spot....an elegant, self indulgent place that lets you just be, and soak in the quietness. The sound of the water, the rocks and the lushness surrounds you. Tastefully done rooms and smiling people to quietly offer excellent service.

And thanks Kishore, for the our meandering discussions and the arrangements you made to have a seamless video meeting from your office. We'll be back, soon.

Curtains were broken in the room. We were 11 of us who checked in after a trek. They ran out of hot water!! We had to wait for 15mins to get hot water again. Wish we had paid more and checked into raddison blue. Basic are missing!! Shouldn't have come here.

Dear Sameer,

Thanks for taking your time to share your observations. It was our pleasure to host you and your felloe travelers.
I had discussion with all of your travel companions and they all shared that how relaxing it was here at Prakriti Aalay and how well they enjoyed their evening gathering on the deck, the food and the overall ambiance of the resort.

Regarding your observations:

1) Hot Water - As you must have seen that we run all our showers in washrooms on high pressure and the building where you were staying is having only 8 rooms backed by 4000 liters of hot water at any time. You/your group checked during the evening along with other group at same time. So the 4000 liters of water through high pressure showers were consumed just within an hour or less (which was understandable as your group and other group, all of you were returning from trekking expedition and needed that hot water to relax).
None of the other people faced this hot water issue, in fact they appreciated that how much this hot water helped them to get rid of their trekking tiredness.
We understand you spent your time outside of the room at check in and when you came back, all 4k liter was already used by your group and other who checked in at the same time but we provided you alternative hot water in less than 15 minutes.

2) Curtains- As you were aware that this is and ECO resort and we try to minimize our carbon foot prints in every possible way, so we use hand woven chic curtains tied with hand made rope/thread. As you were explained by the house keeping staff that the Thread tied to lock the curtain was short and this was extended/changed then and there only. So no curtain was broken and it was just a thread length issue, which was addressed immediately.

3) Overrated - Basic Missing - There seems some miscommunication because the other 10 people of your group shared their view about the property and described it as excellent and best part of their entire stay over last few days, much much better then the commercial chain hotels. In fact some has shared their amazing review/experience in this regard on other social media sites, which explains in itself.

I had a discussion with you where your upgrade was denied because you travel agent has booked all non ac standard rooms and you were insisting to be given the AC. Our staff even explained to you that your other group members are asking for bonfire so AC will not be required in this weather, At that moment you started shouting with them and what not.

We are really sorry for any any inconvenience caused to you because of the 15 min delay in hot water and a few minutes to add additional thread to curtain. We are also happy that we served your entire group and had a good interaction with all of them and it was nice knowing how well they enjoyed the property and the overall experience.

Looking forward.

Regards/KT

This is my second stay here and it keeps getting better. Prakriti Aalay is by far the most boutique experience in Dharamshala. Owners, Kishore ji and Amita ji are like family. They have built an outstanding resort, right in the middle of nature, and curated an unforgettable experience of their guests. If you’re looking for an offbeat, boutique, stay that is surrounded by a forest on one side and a river on the other - it can’t get better than this.

Very well said - when in Dharamshala- always Prakriti Aalay. This coming from a repeat guest means a lot to us and speaks about creating lasting memories for our guests. We always look forward to welcome you. Hopefully soon.

Property was nice, the only challenge is service!! With less staff they were not able to manage the services. When case was raised to owner they told issue due to covid.. but in that case they should not go for full booking!!

Thanks for sharing your feedback. We do understand your concern and as we explained to our other guests as well during that time... that because of the sudden opening after lock down and influx of last minute guests, there might have been some inconvenience or delay on service which we totally regret but as mentioned many of the staff were about to join over next two days, and hence this situation.

But this has been taken care and you are most welcome to witness it yourself. Looking forward.

Me and my family took a trip to dharamshala and were looking for a place that was close to nature and this place was just that.i was worried that the place was in the valley and my mother had to walk that distance but the distance was mere 50 meters..after the 50 meters was a dreamland.a rivulet flowing along.nice and clean rooms and a small trek.and also so many fur friends.the only thing that needs to be taken care of from the property is the service .i felt they were understaffed and could not do quick service.otherwise the food was yummy but the wait was long..overall the place was magical.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Regarding your observation on staff, those days were just after opening the Lockdown and all the staff were not at property as many were still transiting.
Would love to host you again.
