We visited the ride 4 a woman organisation whilst in Bwindi. It was really great to see how these woman have been trained up to learn a skill that they can use to make an income. Everyone was so friendly and I would love to return soon!

Ride4Women is one of my favorite places I got to visit in Uganda. Not only does it offer beautiful and comfortable rooms at very reasonable rates. They also have amazing food and staff. The most impressive part of the organization is what they do to support the women living in their community. They created livelihood opportunities and created a safe place for at risk women to come and stay. This was all started by an amazing local women who works hard everyday to continue to improve the lives of many in Bwindi.

One does not want to go to a place so close to nature and stay in a luxury high rise hotel!! This lodge- Ride 4 a Woman - is as unique as its name! It has the charm of Africa. The dining area is delightfully decorated with a variety of colourful cloths. The food is excellent - really tasty! Delicious cake on arrival !! The rooms are small but entirely sufficient. Clean and comfortable, with a good shower, mosquito netting around the bed and wonderful patchwork bedspreads to brighten the room and remind you where you are! The hotel also has a programme for the up-skilling and enriching of local women, and their hand made goods are available for sale. 12 of us from the Cape Bird Club in Cape Town stayed here for 3 nights. I enjoyed every moment.

We stayed here a group of 4, two UK and two UG, whilst visiting the Gorillas in Bwindi. The place was a real find, the rooms were fantastic, really comfy, mosquite net provided, hot water and even a hot water bottle on a night when it gets a bit chilly outside!

The staff really make this place, Angela and Peter really made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Peter couldn't do enough for us and really is a nice guy!

The chef, Moses, cooks some fantastic food, every night we were well fed with a 3 course meal which wouldn't be out of place at home in a UK restaurant! One night he even cooked live in front of us all! Breakfast was pretty much whatever we requested and that was equally tasty.

The place has wifi which is on all day, is really fast and reliable. The power is turned on early morning and on an evening.

The place also does a lot to support the local community, employing women and giving them skills that make them employable such as sewing or bike repair, definitely a good place to stay if you want make sure that your money stays with those who would benefit from it!

This is an amazing place. It shelters and assists women who have experienced domestic violence or other trauma. At the center, they make the most beautiful handicrafts. A do not miss visit in Bwindi!
