My family and I stayed at Volcano Bwinidi's Lodge for our gorilla trek and it was wonderful! We should've stayed an additional night for the little tourist town (directly above the lodge) but we were so impressed with the time we did have. The staff was wonderful, so professional. Can't say enough about Mariana who went through our schedules and ensured we had all the information we needed, and Ronald, the best barman we've met in Uganda thus far. His watermelon martinis are NOT to be missed! From providing hiking supplies to the hot water bottles in our beds each night to the delicious meals, and the BEST view of the forest- I would highly recommend this lodge!!

Room tip: Each room is in it's own hut and identical, worth a shot to see if the two larger rooms are occupied during your stay.

I had read that Uganda didn't have resorts that compared to Kenya/Tanzania, so didn't expect this absolutely WORLD CLASS establishment. Every single detail is managed to perfection. Everything is beautiful. The location, food, room, everything, everything is perfect. This boutique hotel ranks with the best in the world. Well done, team Bwindi.

Room tip: Kutu was fantastic

Dear Lisa E,

Many thanks for the great feedback! It's fantastic to read such a good review.

Bwindi Lodge is indeed an amazing place and, after all the renovations and different training sessions we've had last year, it is even more spectacular!

We are looking forward to welcoming back at the lodge soon!

Best wishes

A wonderful lodge where you are so well looked after, it is hard to leave. The staff are just wonderful. They greet you, fit you with gaiters and walking sticks in preparation for the gorilla treks, and greet you on your return to clean your boots and wash and dry your clothes. They will get up at any time of the early mornings to make sure you have a delicious and well cooked breakfast, with additional fruits and perfect porridge. The rooms are spacious, well cleaned and fitted and the beds are very comfortable. the bathrooms are also huge and have lovely shampoos and creams etc. The main house has a bar, wifi, a good fire if it is cold, and lots of different comfortable seats. When you wish to go to or from your room after dark, there are at least 2 wonderful gentlemen, and sometimes three of them, who will light your way to your room and make sure you get there safely. There are birds and monkeys and other animals to view from the windows and the lodge can arrange a community walk ($25), a free introduction to tea growing (near the lodge), or other activities. The location is wonderful. Walk up the drive and you are on the "main road" with some lovely craft shops, and the entrance to one of the gorilla trekking stations within 5 minutes. HIGHLY recommended.

Room tip: all the rooms are delightful and all named after a gorilla in the forest

Dear ukcamel,

Many thanks for your kind words, we are delighted to hear you had such an amazing time at Bwindi Lodge and we will certainly pass on your feedback to our staff.

During 2017 the lodge has been progressively renovated. The individual bandas, each having their own view of the forest, have been upgraded with luxury new interiors. We have also upgraded the culinary offer as well as the service, also introducing personal butlers.

We are thrilled to see that our efforts resulted in such a great experience for you and we are looking forward to welcoming back to the lodge soon!

Best wishes

What an amazing 2 nights myself and my 12 year old son spent at Bwindi Lodge! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so comfortable and welcome. The location is to die for. We will never forget the view from the main lodge living room! Right on the edge of the Impenetrable Forest so convenient for Gorilla Trekking! Asides from all the wonderful touches and amenities described by other guests in their reviews we would like to mention the fabulous staff who make the experience even more magical. Mariana, Ronald, Sheilla and Adolf were absolutely brilliant with myself and my son. So friendly and willing to interact with us. Mariana's Ugandan fairy tale story will remain with me forever! Wish we could have stayed longer and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for having us! :)
